Both series deal with shapeshifting lifeforms (in Inugami's case wolf/dog deity/things? and in Parasyte alien beings) that come to earth and wreak havoc, the stories centering on one lifeform that forms a friendship with a human boy (though Inugami's bond is more emotional and heartfelt), with the obligatory girl pal tagging along. Both series are highly recommended for the mature audience who can take bodies being ripped to shreds and appreciate a well developed seinen piece.

Both manga (I suggest watch Wolf's Rain anime instead of Wolf's Rain manga) center around wolf/canine religious beings who travel on the planet. Each have dark themes, violence, and multiple characters (however, Inugami is a bit more violent). In Inugami, the dogs are watching man but ultimately searching for something. In Wolf's Rain, the wolves join together to find Paradise, a place only wolves may go. Both manga have unique themes that delve into the lore of wolves. Inugami is more present-day while Wolf's Rain is set a bit in the future, but both are very similar while also being a bit different. However, if  read more

Some non-human beings appeared in the world, which have superpowers and are superior as the mankind. It's unknown where they come from, but they have a one goal - to observe and judge the mankind. Both manga talk about the current leading species on earth (humans), which abuse the earth by killing the nature and playing somewhat like god themselves. Devilman has demons and one human/demon who protects the human. Inugami has dogs and there is one dog who likes the humans and protects his friend. Well these Inugami are Abstract and not ordinary and that goes for the demons from Devilman.

Giant tentacle fights and two beings trying to save the planet. I think Inugami is on a much larger scale.

They both give of a feeling of obscurity and darkness that draws anyone in who likes stories of demons, aliens and other inexplicable things roaming the earth.
