Synopsis

Seikain Girl's Academy is renowned for teaching the daughters of influential families in etiquette, skills, and manners worthy of a refined lady. However, the school hides far from civilization, so many graduates receive a culture shock when they face reality outside of their homely environment.

To combat this situation, the school's administration comes up with a solution: to bring a commoner who will educate the girls about regular society. Against his wishes, the school chooses Kimito Kagurazaka to represent not only commoner life but also the male sex. He is also forced to pretend to be gay, lest a terrible consequence befalls upon him.

Adjusting to his new lifestyle, Kimito meets Aika Tenkuubashi, a reclusive girl who yearns for friends. Hoping to make herself popular, she creates the Commoner Club with Kimito to master the ways of the modern world. As time passes, they are joined by the seemingly perfect Reiko Arisugawa, the child prodigy Hakua Shiodome, and the sword-swinging Karen Jinryou. Now, as the school's "commoner sample," Kimito fulfills his duty alongside his newfound acquaintances.

I consider this one of the very first harem member series I have read throughout the manga.
So one edge this series has over the numerous others centers around the story.
It is unique, it takes a new direction that doesn't feel generic or odd in any way.
There were many scenes and points where I was impressed.

Likewise, the issues lie with the generic, the expected cannot be changed.
The theme of this manga is.....yeah... and you will still rely on the usual tricks and tropes.
Sometimes you will even question the common sense of these characters, then you remember the setting and it makes a little more sense.

If I ...

Kimito, a commoner, is kidnapped by the Japanese nobility to be a "shoumin sample," or commoner sample for a school of the children of the nobility, taught in a school cut off from the outside world. The only blessing problem is that it's an all-girls school.

The story works the best with character development amongst its harem cast. Aiko and Karen become more confident as the story goes on through their arcs, a treat to see. Seeing these rich ladies be near-humilated by Kimito's basic knowledge of the commoner's world gives an almost revolutionary feeling, seeing the nobility's social standing gives them unimaginable wealth the masses can never ...

Mixed Feelings
Great harem romcom, some funny but slightly repetitive gags and a lot of parody things from japanese culture and otaku culture. Decent character development and interesting setting that hooks you to find out what happens next.

Now, what the fuck. This manga got AXED 15 VOLUMES IN?????????? THE LIGHT NOVEL FOR THE LAST FEW VOLUMES ARE NOT TRANSLATED. There literally WASN'T an ending to this series in the manga. Absolutely nothing happened. They just forced the arc to end and didn't develop on sooooooooo many things they introduced in earlier volumes.

Only way to find out the true ending of the series is to read summaries ...
