Preliminary (7/10 chp)
This is a short review of the Log Horizon manga. I have not read the novel at this point of time, as I am more of a visual person who prefers anime and manga. Overall, I find that the manga covers more stories and details that are not elaborated in the anime. It also covers characters that have less presence in the anime. It acts as a supplement to what the anime presents.

Ah, world-building, how I miss you, you magnificent beauty. Let's kiss the very ground that log horizon walks on cause this is the best of the "trapped in a game" genre we are going to get in recent years.

After the disgusting abominations that is SAO, Overlord, and all the other garbage. It is great knowing that there are still people in Japan with brains.

tl;dr: Don’t bother with this and watch the anime or read the novels instead.

This manga is a really brief introduction to Log Horizon, only a single volume long. I have not yet read the novels so I can’t compare it to that, but it essentially adapts the equivalent of episode 3 and 4 of the anime. It tries to convey what’s important from episodes 1-2 as well through flashbacks, but it glosses over most everything. Thus, it really doesn’t feel like the manga does a good job of explaining things, and that’s coming from someone that’s already seen the anime. I imagine for someone with ...
