Whereas Touge Oni is an epic adventure intrigue that often gets serious and philosophical, Sennen Mannen is a philosophical intrigue drama. Both are thrilling, entertaining and makes you think as a bonus to the very cool and magical visuals and plot beats. 

Similar attention to atmosphere and similar focus on traditions, mystic forces vs human hubris and its consequences 

Bittersweet stories that feels like a fairy tale. Reading one of these reminds me of the other. Both stories share similar atmosphere that makes these stories feel like a poetry. There's beauty in the writing, with a little sorrow in it. The characters feels down to earth and real, making it easier to symphatize with them despite the supernatural themes.
