This is a very short slice-of-life about a man, the alien wife that he absolutely adores, and (soon enough) their half-alien child. It's funny, it's heartwarming and, sadly, it's way too short.

Story (6): Story? What story? Okay, so you do get a little flashback to how they met, and the manga ends with kind of an odd kidnapping episode, for for the most part the manga is just a series of cute little bits about an alien housewife trying to take care of her loving husband, while hiding the fact that she's an alien.

Art (8): I found the characters pretty ... impressive. The human-skin suits that the wife wears are clever, and in her alien form she manages to look... well, alien... but you can also see why the husband thinks that she's cute. That's not easy to pull off, considering there are tentacles coming out of her head.

Character (8): It's nice to see a manga about a husband and wife who really love each other. Both of them are trying their best to make their odd situation work, and to live normal lives. I wished the manga were longer so I could have gotten to know them better.

Enjoyment (8): This is a consistently funny manga, and the flashback to when they met had me in stitches.

Overall (7): My biggest complaint about this manga is that it ends so quickly. I suppose it was axed. I would have loved to spend more time with this odd, awkward, and yet entirely relatable family. It's delightful while it lasts.

This is a very short but cute slice of life comedy with a twist that the wife is a non-human looking alien and needs to disguise her appearance to fit into human society. The humor here is fairly straight forward and light, very much like a normal sit-com and while this series has been called "ecchi" I find that really other than a couple of shots of nudity, there really isn't anything "ecchi" about it (I, for one, don't consider just minor nudity to be perverted or dirty).

"Yome ga Kore na mon de" is a quick read that uses some hoary old tropes and plots, ... but manages to pull them off with a bit of sentimental sweetness.

When I started reading this manga and saw a naked alien titty I didn’t have a damn clue that what I’m about to see will never cross the boundaries of wholesome slice of life.

Yome ga Kore na mon de is actually quite surprising in this aspect. There’s no shortage of well drawn, titillating nudity in this manga yet I never felt like it was there to get me to slapping my base. It’s treated very casually and rarely becomes a focus of the manga outside of a few select panels where there ... is an actual point to going all in.

Other than that, My Sweet Alien is pure and lighthearted fun through and through. Its 13 well paced chapters take you through various amusing situations in a life of a man living with an alien wife and child without ever getting stale. In a little over 300 pages you get to see so much; from how extraterrestrial biology manages everyday chores to human society and technology rapidly advancing after everyone’s friends and neighbours start revealing their alien origin. All seen from the perspective of an adorable and loving couple.

What adds to this manga being such a nice and short read is how excellent the art is throughout. The quality of art immediately gives away Miyata’s strong grasp of fundamental drawing skills and he puts it to a good use by filling out every panel with details and extra touches for those who are willing to look closer. Characters in particular are always drawn with remarkable consistency which becomes more impressive when you consider that using more or less realistic anatomy is no easy feat.

While it’s not a manga I can see myself re-reading anytime and it didn’t warm my heart as much as something like Amaama to Inazuma or Ryushika Ryushika, it’s still a very solid in SoL genre that’s worth reading if you want something short and sweet.

After meeting each other after he was abducted one night of full moon, he fell in love at first sight and proposed at that instant.

Great art, it's clear even when the alien wife's using dozens of things with her tentacles.
Sadly only had access to a few chapters, and not much is know of the characters or their story besides a shallow skim, looks promising in its most part. It's classified as a slice of life, but being sci-fi makes it kinda uncomfortable mix, still hope I can i get to see ... more of it.

A way too short cute slice of life manga that may leave you smiling.

Nobuo is a salaryman, whose wife is an alien that makes life interesting to him. Each chapter was short but had a lot of cute moments in every single one of them. Nobuo eventually becomes the father of a half alien child that develops power that may be more powerful than everyone else in the manga.

The art is cute, even when the wife was nude it didn't feel sexual at all. The men in the manga compliment the cute style of the women. They appear harder and at times are ... the straight men in this comedy.

tl;dr: A short series of light semi-amusing stories about a man married to an alien. 

This is a short manga with really short episodes, like 8-10 pages, that look into various things that happen to the strange couple. Some are purely humorous and some involve a bit more plot, but overall, they're pretty simplistic and light. In terms of comedy, I thought it was okay, but not that great. The humor mostly arose from how bizarre things were, but overall, I didn't find it all that funny. In terms of sweet moments, once again, it was decent, and the relationship between the two is solid enough, but I didn't find many moments that were that heartwarming. ... Just kind of comfy. There were some simple overarching messages about accepting others, not discriminating, and liking people for who they are, but they were very much on the light side and mostly just showed up at the end. There wasn't that much of a story so the ending didn't feel that important, but it was fine. The art was weird, in that style wise it was decent, but everything looked pretty strange design wise, which certainly fits with the alien focus, but that doesn't make it any more enjoyable to look at.
