Busou Renkin is another great series authored by Nobuhiro Watsuki, the man responsible for Rurouni Kenshin. It shares the same mix of intense action, good story, great character development, and light-hearted humor. If you enjoyed the overall feel of Kenshin at all, then Busou Renkin is something you really should read.

Both of the main characters gain powers that they had never had before, as well as having a very similar female character to assist them both. Believe it or not, both anime surround the idea about the meaning of friendship. Also both of the main character use humongous swords due to the extreme power they hold in within themselves.

Series that take alchemy as a basic plot element and then take off running in opposite directions. It's pretty cool to see how they use the same topic in completely different ways.

Both are basically required reading for anyone who likes the simple yet entertaining style of early 2000s manga. Both get right to the action while still leaving room for character and plot development.

The feeling is similar. A guy who doesn't want power for himself, but for the sake of friends and family, that later understands that there's more to it (like his entire city, or maybe more). You have much slice of life in both, and "boy meets girl". They're both pleasant and funny to read, and even if the battles aren't really on the epic side, you end loving the characters and the overall atmosphere. Yet they are good too, and more clever, tactical than in other shonen.

An optimistic protagonist who cares about others more than himself. Extremely naive to point of stupidity. A tsundere heroine with a traumatizing past. These two manga are extremely alike in both character development and atmosphere wise.

Yuusen shoujo is about a guy who saves a girl and they both require new "bodies" (won't give anything away), they meet later on in life and the story begins from there. Both series have a cheerful male protagonist who go through something hard and gains new power. The styles of the series are in general very similar! Busou renkin is more of a mainstream fighting manga though. Yuusen shoujo focuses a bit more on the character development and their surroundings. I love both series pretty equally, but more non-typical shonen fans Yuusen shoujo would be the better choice.

They are done by the same mangaka but aside that they deal with immortality and the resurrection of the dead. In both, some characters transform into monsters and kill and feed on humans.

Great adventure-y battle series with similar protagonists and cast structures.

Both are very similair, both are super natural and both maincharacters are willing to put everything on the line to protect the one's close to them. Both are very dark even thought Cerberus might be a tiny bit more dark, and both are quite insane and cruel, if you readed one you'd like the other :)

Other than the over-the-top action sequences, both series tell a good story filled with tons of exaggerated humor.

Both are battle series about slacker heroes given supernatural powers.

In both the main enemy is a human-monster that drains energy from the people in Busou Renkin and cause people to become mad in Soul Eater.
