Manga: Gangsta.
Mystery. Action. Non-Humans. Area D and Gangsta have all these and much more. In both mangas the story revolves around the Non-Humans (Altered and Twilights) who are living their lives in restricted sections (island 'Area D' and 'Ergastulum'). But of course there's also movement against these Non-Humans and so a thrilling plot starts in which everyone seek to come out on top - no matter through what means.

Manga: City of Darkness
A very friendship driven story from both manga's. The two main characters are fighting towards a goal, along the way they encounter trust worthy companions that have their back. As the characters spend more and more time together going through tough battles and life threatening situations their friendships become even stronger. Both male leads are incredibly powerful with a very likable personality, a born to be leader who can inspire those around them which makes everyone seem to join their cause. Both manga's have awesome fighting scenes and a variety of super powers for each individual character.

Mysterious powers Both have to do with psychic abilities and the battle between a group. Both manga are intense psychological horror and contain a lot of killing. Very similiar artstyle, also characters resemble eachother. In other words, kill or be killed.

Similar art style and dark tone. The plot is centered around a life and death game of survival. Both stories revolve around protagonists with special powers. They are forced to use it to fight for their lives and survive. The characters in both are mysterious and it is difficult to differentiate them between a friend or foe.

both manga have an event where a lot of people acquired a esper ability that causes disturbances. having esper/altered who kills and think their supreme beings. both have heroine who are the one doing the good things and helping the normal people. and have trusted friends who are fighting besides them.
