Both are paranormal mystery series, with complex and interesting crimes solved by those who can see ghosts. Two excellent series!

Both are about investigation of supernatural phenomens and exorcism. GH is more abouth investigation and have traces of romance. (In short its more shoujo.) S.I.D. is more shounen or seinen like and focus more on dealing with spirits and their exorcism. If you like one you should try the other. (PS: Sorry for my english :D)

Both are urban fantasies involving vengeful ghosts. In both, the main characters work to appease the wronged ghost's spirit, often putting them in the way of the criminals who wronged them. Both are extremely well written and the fantastic elements are expertly portrayed alongside the realistic crimes and psychological drama. If you like stories with spirits and realistic crime, both of these stories have you covered.

Both are realistic urban fantasies with elements of crime drama. Blood Alone has vampires and psychics, handled with incredible believability, and the main character, a vampire hunter, is seen aiding the police department occasionally on strange cases. SID focuses on vengeful spirits and exorcists, the main character being a police detective who can see spirits, and begins to solve a lot of cases involving ghosts. The cases and the ghosts are portrayed very believably with a sense of authenticity. While the two are pretty different, the way the authors weave the fantastic elements beautifully into the world is the same.

Both are great paranormal crime dramas where people with some sort of psychic ability aids the police in solving well conceived, realistic crimes. Psychometrer Eiji is a bit more to script, with the only paranormal elements being Eiji's Psychometry, or ability to see visions when touching objects. SID is a little more fantastical, with action and shamanism, but still has very realistic crime situations, with the main character being a police detective before he's anything else. Both great reads, if you like one, check out the other.
