Gacha Gacha is a Shounen, Ecchi, Romantic, Comedy manga which is split up into two separate stories, however it is evident that one story is better than the other.

The first story entitled Capsule and it’s about two friends Kouhei (boy) and Clara (girl) who have a sort of love-hate relationship. During the summer, Clara goes to Hawaii with her mom but returns home with some split personalities. From the start to finish this is an incredibly whacky story and even though the split personality concept seems a bit off, it is portrayed in a great and funny way. There really is no structure to the ... story, as it is just a bunch of random events yet the characters are what help keep the story together. Having a girl dealing with multiple personalities was great idea because you could never get bored with her and Kouhei was great in the way that he adapted to interact with each one.

Onto the second, entitled Secret, and it’s about some cowardly guy (Hatsushiba Akira) who tries out the new Gachax2 virtual game machine. When all of a sudden an error occurred. Now every time he sneezes he transforms into a cute girl. Even though this story is pretty fun to read, the problem with this set-up is that it is far too unexplainably stupid and makes no sense whatsoever. And unfortunately this story is dragged on for twice the length as the previous one, so it easy to get bored of it. The characters this time around are alright but there’s no depth to them. Though Akira can be very convincing as a girl, the fact that this became an idiotic gender bender full of typical cliches leaves little to be desired. Also the female characters may be appealing, but they don’t offer much more than what you can find in your average Shounen, Rom/Com.

The artwork is probably the best aspect of this manga, because even though it may look pretty standard it still has incredibly well designed female characters, with plenty of fanservice. Too bad the guys looked like bums, but most guys who read this wouldn’t care.

Overall Gacha Gacha proved to be a somewhat enjoyable manga and the idea of linking 2 separate stories together was good. However the 2nd story just wasn’t up to the same standard as the 1st, which forced me to lower my score. Fans of gender benders may like the transition but even those fans will notice something wrong with the story.

Gachagacha: The Next Revolution starts out with an interesting concept, but after that it goes almost nowhere.

The characters start out completely devoid of personality, save for the Akira whose personality only serves to convince the reader that he is utterly worthless, and in most respects he pretty much is.

The main female love interest, Yurika, falls into the deathly trap that is why-does-he-even-like-her. Yurika starts out as "The Pretty Girl" and not much else, whose sole purpose in life is to be loved by the main character. About half ... way through the manga (when people start acquiring personalities) hers remains one of the most plain.

The story in Gachagacha: The Next Revolution is, at best, mediocre, and moves about as slow as molasses. The love plots move about as much as they do in Ranma 1/2, which is to say not at all.

Gachagacha: The Next Revolution may not be THE BEST, but it is entertaining enough. If you go into this expecting a light hearted romance, that's what you come out with. If you're expecting a Gender Bender, it's certainly got that. But if you're expecting a Masterpiece, you will be disappointed.

I give Gachagacha: The Next Revolution a 3 out of 5.

This is a masterpiece. It might be because it was one of the only manga I'd read in the last 3 years, but it kept me up until 1 am every night. I love the characters and i appreciate the art. The story line is about a Boy who likes a girl (original, eh?), but always gets "manly" near her and gets embarrassed. It's very funny in scenes where he becomes a girl because of a glitch in a game. The story Gacha Gacha is the starting for ... this story, where they go to a capsule video game and a glitch occurs. The most outrageous parts are when he learns that by eating a certain food, the girl form of him matures quickly. The art... The art is great, it is for people who like the concept of background being drawn exceptionally great. I'm going to reference the girls' hair to that of "to-LOVE-ru". I recommend this to people who want to see a nice comic with occasional nude breasts.

Gacha Gacha has 2 seperate stories, but the stories are for the most part playing of of odd circumstances in a humerous fashion. The Art is pretty good, but the characters in my opinion could have used some more work. Also I think that in some of the chapters the Story becomes too fanservice oriented. Overall a good Manga though

... To be honest, this Capsule series started off with a bang. I was instantly reminded of Mahabora, but the scope of the similarity is much larger. IMO, the story started off well, but went downhill from the second arc.

This Capsule series seem to have 3 parts: Introduction of main characters, Normal AI change and resulting-consequences-in-school, and finally, Original 4 and ending arc.

I personally like the first arc a lot, since it seemed like a lot of thought has been given to the different personalities that appeared. The resulting consequences, whether at school or elsewhere, were life-like, touching, and most importantly, funny. School life genre is apparent in the first arc.

The second arc (including the ending) was very different from the first arc. It all began with the discovery of the Original 4 (O4). From then on, the previous characters seemed to be abandoned completely, and no more AI characters showed up, nor was there any mention of them at all. The second arc seems to have a harem rivalry, which took many pages which could have been used better elsewhere.

The O4 concept was badly developed, and seemed quite different from the AI personality change concept. In particular, 3 of the O4 characters were scarcely used in the Capsule series at all.

The ending seemed rushed, a lot of things unexplained, things seem to happen just like that. In fact, the ending is so confusing I couldn't understand what happened.

One relationship in the series has a good romance genre.

The art is detailed, emotions are drawn skillfully and there seems to be a lot of background drawings (like fishes) which improves the mood of the panel. This raises the enjoyment/entertainment value.

This is the first manga in which I take notice of the characters' costumes. There seemed to be a great variety of costumes, all drawn skillfully.

Most panels were very clear.

Well defined for intro and first arc, which was VERY solid.
Sloppy and underdeveloped for second arc. Quite a lot of actions and behaviours were unexplained and unaccounted for.

I dislike the overall poor development of personalities in this Capsule series, especially from the O4 arc onwards. It had a lot of potential, but was developed into a kind of typical romance-harem story.

Enjoyment:7
I would give a 10 for the first arc, since it was soooo hilarious and enjoyable.
For the second arc (incl. ending), probably 4.
Anyone who enjoys comedy, romance, or multiple personalities genres would probably like this Capsule series.

Overall, a good one, although the second arc was predictable and kinda weak, and ending was a huge disappointment.
