This stack contains series with a female lead who is could be considered a genius—most have high intellect, but she could have a specific skill as well. All series have a romantic elements and can be lighthearted/silly at times. Check these out if you’re looking for feel-good series with smart and talented women!

Number of sales and date that number was acquired from in notes for each. Some of them I have personally estimated a higher figure than the date says.

No. 98 is Gaki Deka, but I couldn't find it. It has sold 30 million (November 16th, 2017), and was made by Tatsuhiko Yamagami and the publisher is Akita Shoten.

No. 99 says Jingi, but it seems to be Tachihara Ayumi's other work Maji! due to the dates and amount of volumes.

All of these are Shoujo, there isn’t a single shounen piece in here. These can vary from fantasy Shoujo to action Shoujo. They are not all romantic in nature. None of these are one-shots either, though some are more short than others. Please enjoy these and I hope you find some interesting things in here. I’ve read all of these and loved them so I’d be honored if you’d do the same.

Semi/Realistic depictions of adolescence and high school. Life your best teen days vicariously through these characters!! ☆ ☆

These series are meant to be relatable in some way or another. If a series does not portray an average depiction of high school, then it appeals to the emotional vulnerability that captures most people at this point in life. A few of these can be a tad bit on the dramatic side (i.e. potentially unrealistic to some) but teenagers CAN be dramatic so it felt fitting!

i'm particularly picky about romance animanga because too many of them drag out for the sake of making more money, they don't even experience the couple's relationships and just ends it at them getting together, etc. the romances i chose have either character development, charm, and/or unique premise.

i tried not including romances where the romance isn't really a huge focus, and i haven't read many novels in general but i'll be adding romance novels i like in the future.

(P.S. I do not hate high school rom-coms, I just read a lot more romances of other genres and it's hard to find a rom-com that doesn't drag out or that stands out imo)

Here are all the shoujo manga I think one should read in order to cover all bases. I organized this list by general theme, with publishing series at the bottom.

We start off with serious drama and slice of life series, then period and fantasy action and war series, then science-fiction series, then magical girl series, then series for younger audiences, then romance comedies, then drama slice of life romances, then horror and supernatural manga, and lastly, important ongoing series.

I'm currently using this list too, despite me being the one who created it!
