FAKE is possibly the most romantic series--shounen-ai or not--I have ever read.

The story is pretty much two NYC cops falling in love...not much to it. They go on cases, chill after work, etc. Some of the cases themselves get pretty intense, though.

Sanami Matoh's art takes awhile to get used to; many characters look alike and the older characters are drawn very rough. But aside from that, her art is unique and her characters are really very beautifully drawn--not scrawny or pretty boy-esque like your typical manga protagonists.

The characters are what really got to me--you can't get much more real than them. Dee and ...

Although am I not all that into shounen-ai/yaoi, I have to say I adoreded this series!

FAKE is one of those stories that most people wouldn't think to read. Admitedly, the art is a bit of a turn off since it does not follow the traditonal manga style and can be, at times, very awkward looking. But it really is a shame not many people will pick this story up!

Lets start with the plot. Although it has a pretty generic base (two NYPD detectives solving crimes and living life) it really is a lot more in depth then you'd think. Each case the characters solve ...

This is one of my favorite manga, and also my first yaoi. It’s a must for any yaoi fan.

Story: Not a very complicated story, not hard to follow but very interesting. It isn’t like most love story, there’s something special between the two main characters that you will love. NY Cops confront a lot of crimes, and Dee & Ryo confront many crimes with personal ties. Just addicting!

Art: Sanami-sensei’s drawings are quite rough, and you need some time to get used to them. She progresses as the manga progresses, though I must say the first Volume is the roughest and it fools you. But never ...

Fake, really it's anything but. The story is a-ma-zing and wonderful. I've yet to come across anything half as romantic, yaoi or not!

Story- 10

Alot of the time in yaoi manga, once the romance dies down there is no reason is read due to lack of a good plot, but Fake doesn't follow this rule! Since it's a cop/detective thing, you can expect lots of mystery and suspense.

Some of the crimes are a bit out of the left field, but if you've ever watched a crime show, this isn't anything new nor does it disturb the plot.

The only that did continuously grate my nerves ...
