Since there are no other reviews, I figured that I'd write the first. I want to start off by saying that the picture that MAL has up for the series is not at all representative of what the story is about. There is a lot less ecchi than what that picture implies. Now that that's out of the way, let's start the review.

Story (8): The first couple chapters did a poor job of getting me engaged in the series, and I almost dropped it. However, once you start learning more, the story gets a lot better. The plot was good, although I felt that some ... of the plot twists were poorly executed. The humor was decent (that's usually where the ecchi came in), and it helped a story that could get a little dark at times. Like many short series, the ending did feel rushed, but I thought it did a good enough job of wrapping everything up.

Art (7): Like I said at the beginning, there's a lot less fanservice than the picture might have you think. The story could get dark at times, and the art would follow along with that. The technical skill didn't seem too high, and I was confused about what was happening for some panels. However, the art was overall good.

Characters (9): Personally, I thought the characters were one of the best parts. They didn't usually feel like so many other stereotypical characters that can make other manga seem boring. The main characters were all done pretty well (except for the poorly executed plot twists I mentioned earlier), but the side characters were great. They felt relevant to the story and weren't there just for laughs or fanservice.

Enjoyment (8): After the poor start, this manga became fun to read. Good humor, a decent plot, and art that usually got the job done moved the story along well. Once I got to know the characters, they also became enjoyable to read about. The ending might have tried a little too hard, but it was much better than many other endings I have read. Baketeriya is not a masterpiece, but it's a fun read if you're looking for a decent short series.
