I don't read many shoujo manga and wouldn't have read this if not for the comedy tag. Thankfully, I did open it up, and it became one the the few romance stories that I actually like. Everything about it is sweet and funny and the last chapter is one of the most amazing things that I've ever read.
Story (9): The only bad thing about the story is that it's so short. The ending was perfect, but that meant less time spent on the beginning. That meant it felt like it started very quickly, and once I understood what was going on, I was already a
...
decent part of the way through the story. The comedy is good, the interactions between the characters are sweet, but everything hinges on the last chapter. If you love it, then the story will be elevated to a high level as well. If you don't like the ending, then this manga is just a simple slice-of-life comedy. Not bad, but the last chapter is what makes it great.
Art (8): I don't really have any complaints about the art. It could get a little simplistic at times (that's why it's an '8'), but overall it was very good. I thought the expressions were done very well.
Character (10): There are only two characters besides the background ones, the MC and the lying cicada. The MC is a very average person. The only interesting thing about him is how boring he is. The other character (the lying cicada) is a very strange little girl who brings the sweetness and comedy into the story. She manages to change the MC, but again, it's the last chapter that really shows the true depth of characters that only had seven chapters to develop. It makes you go back and reevaluate all the interactions between the characters.
Enjoyment (9): I'm sure you're getting tired of reading this, but the last chapter is what makes it amazing even though it's so short. I loved the last chapter so I thought the manga was great. However, even if you don't like it, the rest is still a fun slice-of-life comedy. I definitely recommend reading it. It's only seven chapters, but it's a complete and enjoyable story.

This is the sequel for Until the Full Moon. Since that manga was horrible, I don't recommend reading it just so you can read this series. However, you can read this series without reading the prequel even though it might take you a little bit to understand the characters. Still, unless you really like the art or have already suffered through Until the Full Moon, there's no point in reading this very short series.
Story (5): The story was awful for the prequel, and there was nowhere to go but up. This series just felt like several comedy stories involving the past characters. There's no main
...
plot at all (that's why I said you could read this without reading the prequel). The comedy is pretty decent, and some of the stories are somewhat interesting, but it's mediocre at best.
Art (10): This is a subjective opinion, but I loved the art. If it weren't for the art, there's no way that I would have finished this. If you've already read Until the Full Moon (don't if you haven't), then you might be surprised at the art in this series. There's a dramatic change that made everything else much more tolerable.
Characters (6): The most stereotypical characters possible from Until the Full Moon finally seemed slightly interesting. Thanks to the comedy, you can see more than just the lovestruck part of them and can actually see some personality. That said, the manga still relies on a bunch of stereotypes and clichés so the minor improvement just raises the score to a '6'.
Enjoyment (7): Okay comedy and very good art are the only two reasons (besides having read the prequel) to read this. Still, there are so many other manga out there with just as good art and much better comedy. My recommendation, go find something better unless you've already read Until the Full Moon. If you have (I can't say this enough, but don't if you haven't), then reading this is fine. That's about the best I can say about @Full Moon.

Since there are no other reviews, I figured that I'd write the first. I want to start off by saying that the picture that MAL has up for the series is not at all representative of what the story is about. There is a lot less ecchi than what that picture implies. Now that that's out of the way, let's start the review.
Story (8): The first couple chapters did a poor job of getting me engaged in the series, and I almost dropped it. However, once you start learning more, the story gets a lot better. The plot was good, although I felt that some
...
of the plot twists were poorly executed. The humor was decent (that's usually where the ecchi came in), and it helped a story that could get a little dark at times. Like many short series, the ending did feel rushed, but I thought it did a good enough job of wrapping everything up.
Art (7): Like I said at the beginning, there's a lot less fanservice than the picture might have you think. The story could get dark at times, and the art would follow along with that. The technical skill didn't seem too high, and I was confused about what was happening for some panels. However, the art was overall good.
Characters (9): Personally, I thought the characters were one of the best parts. They didn't usually feel like so many other stereotypical characters that can make other manga seem boring. The main characters were all done pretty well (except for the poorly executed plot twists I mentioned earlier), but the side characters were great. They felt relevant to the story and weren't there just for laughs or fanservice.
Enjoyment (8): After the poor start, this manga became fun to read. Good humor, a decent plot, and art that usually got the job done moved the story along well. Once I got to know the characters, they also became enjoyable to read about. The ending might have tried a little too hard, but it was much better than many other endings I have read. Baketeriya is not a masterpiece, but it's a fun read if you're looking for a decent short series.

First of all, let me say that this type of manga is not for everybody. Obviously, that’s true for all manga, but there are some qualities of Detective Conan that will annoy some people. The main storyline moves very slowly and not much attention is given to character development. However, it is my favorite manga, and it is a great read for anyone who can handle some of the repetitive elements.
Story (10): The story itself is amazing. Like I mentioned before, the main storyline does move kind of slowly, but it has picked up speed a little around volume 73, where more of the
...
cases start to relate to the main storyline. Aoyama is a master of leaving clues about future plotlines and making you wait in suspense for answers to cliffhangers. However, with the slow story, there is a lot of filler material that has nothing to do with the main storyline, but that's why I said that this manga isn't for everybody. All of the individual cases are pretty short, and you can go through them rather quickly. Because of that and the fact that the cases mostly follow a structured format, some of the characters, cases, and motives can seem repetitive. However, each case is unique and has to be solved in a different way.
Art (9): The art, especially the characters, is fairly unique. The style does change early in the series, but it's stayed consistent for a while now. Everything is well drawn, and it's easy to understand what's happening in a given panel.
Character (8): I didn't mention this when talking about the story, but the characters are fixed in time. Time does pass (changing of seasons, holidays, etc.), but the characters never age. This has the unfortunate effect of limiting character development. There is some through the main storyline, but for the most part, the characters don't evolve much. Other than the very slow main plot, the biggest way there is character development is usually in the form of cases that occurred before the start of the series. That’s often where you get to learn more about each character. Maybe the only other way is in terms of romantic relationships. Those contribute to the characters, although everything romantic also happens very slowly.
Enjoyment (10): I did say in the beginning that this has been my favorite manga to read. I've read the entire series three times so far and loved it every time. There is a lot of well-done humor that will make you laugh out loud. There hasn’t been as much comedy recently, but I appreciate that because it means Aoyama isn’t trying to force in repetitive humor. Each case is fun and engaging to read. The main storyline is one of the best I've ever read, and as the series goes on, it keeps getting better. If you don't mind the somewhat repetitive nature of the side characters, this is one that I definitely recommend reading.
