They are both stupid, fighting, delinquent mangas. Both have an idiot for a main character and are set in schools well known for delinquency

Both of these manga have heavily delinquent themes, each MC wants to fight and become the top of their respective school and get strong enough to be called the best fighter. They both touch on some good coming of age themes, though crows does a much better job at this, it's less impressive in Sugarless.

The two manga's have a similar feel of misjudged group of friends who on the surface just look like delinquents that fight for no reason. Both stories show unbreakable bounds of friendships, friends that help each other no matter what. Surprisingly both narratives have the same amount if not more heart warming moments then violent physical fight scenes.

Shonan Seven and Sugarless takes place in a school life setting where there are dominant male characters and delinquents. The main character gets into complicated affairs and fights with others. Their presence also triggers rivalries with reputable characters as we see how far they go to prove themselves.

Kamen Teacher and Sugarless takes place in a school life setting where delinquents play a prominent role in the story. There is action and rivalries that develops between certain characters. As their story progresses, there's also some characterization that tells the purpose of some of the characters and their motivations. Do note that Kamen Teacher adapts more comedy while Sugarless almost always involves fighting in some way or form every chapter.
