Both manga deal with the investigation of paranormal incidents which occur in the day to day lives of people that are unaware of the existence of ghosts and spirits.

They both seem to have kids in it that want to commit suicide and so on.

Horror, violence, betrayal, trying to save the world, escaping your fate...lots of parallels. (X is a lot more bloody of the two, and also doesn't have a proper ending yet.)

Diabolo and Soul Eater have a story surrounding a set of two people fighting against an evil force that's threatening the world. Some characters similarities can be drawn as well: Rai (Diabolo) with Stein (SE) and Ren (Diabolo) with Spirit with be the closest, but Ren and Rai aren't exactly like Spirit and Stein - just in certain parts.

Both series have multiple protagonists whose troubled and traumatic pasts have led them into a world of black-and-grey morality where they fight against the forces that made them the way they are. Diabolo has a sinister supernatural element with pseudo-religious overtones while Anne Freaks is purely fantasy-secular, but other than that there are a number of commonalities in the story elements and overall ambiance; the art styles are also similar.
