Manga: Haikyuu!!
Kurogane and Haikyuu!! are competitive series with a colorful cast of characters. The main male protagonist are involved in an activity/sport that tests the limits of their physical abilities. While they start out as underdogs, the series shows their hard work and determination as they begin to demonstrate superior skills. Both series focuses a lot of characterization and relationship dynamics as well. Kurogane is also noticeable for its supernatural element while Haikyuu!! retains a strong degree of its realism with its game mechanics.

Manga: Hikaru no Go
A ghost/shinigami appears to the heroes as teachers and then the boys want to become better in the game/sport. They both have explanations too so readers don't get confused.

Manga: Cross Manage
Kurogane and Cross Manage may focus on different sports, but fate seems to land both series' protagonists into the a story of recreational fun. There's a decent amount of focus in both series in regards to competition with their sport. In Kurogane, the series focuses on kendo while Cross Manage is about lacrosse. There's a good amount of comedy present in both series as well as character building. Do take note that Kurogane has a noticeable supernatural element involving the main male protagonist who gains an unusual ability.

Manga: Holyland
Both main character are weak in the start, and grow stronger. The main difference is that olyland is about streetfight, and Kurogane about kendo.

Manga: Saikyou! Toritsu Aoizaka Koukou Yakyuubu
Really nice team spirit and the sporting moves are not over the top. The main character of saikyou is quite a natural but his down to earth character and determination to succeed does remind us of Hiroto a little. Both very good sporting mangas!

Manga: Slam Dunk
The similarities are apparent when you look at the members and how they are introduced into the story. Not only that but their personalities and roles in the team. Both clubs start off weak but after some new members join, gain the attention from top schools.

Manga: Kono Oto Tomare!
Kurogane is the story of a new comer that begins in the kendo competion world. Kono Oto Tomare is the same. Both have great characters and stories.

Manga: Kuroko no Basket
Both are awesome sport mangas with amazing art for their respective years. The brief summary is that a weak-looking guy turns out to have a hidden potential for a secert skill in the sport they play, and they start to play in competitions. I love both, but KnB is apparently a lil' more popular.

How these are alike: 1) A male protagonist 2) The protagonist haz 0 physical strength 3) They join a club do to the female protagonist 4) They both involve the protagonists adventure in a club swimmingkendo 5) The protagonist slowly improves over the course of the manga

Both of these titles revolve around characters who have joined clubs that practice modern sword-fighting. Kurogane features kendo, whereas Haru Polish features Iaido.

Manga: Katekyou Hitman Reborn!
As a man, we all want to be able to protect the ones we love and be known as a "hero". In KHR, No-Good Tsuna is forced to become stronger and protect himself and his loved ones from the dangers of the mafia world. While Wire-Frame Kurogane of Kurogane struggles to become a "hero" through high school kendo. Both series also feature a mentor type character guiding the protagonists with coaching and tough love.

The Protagonist is weak; but, they continued to train to become strong.

Manga: Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru
Character growth is a prominent feature for both Kurogane and Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru. Both series' main male protagonist starts off as an underdog but works their way up in their sports division. There is a lot of character focus as we see his relationship develop with others. While both series takes their sports seriously, there's also good amount of lighthearted comedy to balance the overall tone of the story. Kurogane focuses on kendo while Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru features martial arts.
