Uragiri reminded me of X at first sight, as it is clearly a bland copy of Clamp's masterpiece, unquestionably a deeper and far superior manga. Certain characters share many similarities: Kamui and Yuki are troubled, orphaned 15 years old boys with a power within them; Kusanagi and Tsukumo are able to communicate with animals; Kotori and Touko are sweet, blonde little sisters. Similar mood and common themes, such as dreams, destiny, friendship. Lots of beautiful boys, plenty of angst and drama, BL undertones.

Same creators, so therefore, the art is the same. Plus, some characters in X/1999 make cameo appearances in Tsubasa.

Can fate be changed? What is your wish? Which side are you on? A chosen child amidst a celestial war, with the power to either save or destroy the world. A group (or two) of six/seven individuals, each with a special ability. Villains, allies and neutrals, everyone is led by stars and divine prophecies. Clamp-conceived classics about destiny, these 90's fantasy epics are a study on mythology with beautiful angsty boys, dead mothers and sisters, sorrowful love, striking gore and tragic outcomes - one in an ancient, otherworldly place, the other in a modern city setting.

Horror, violence, betrayal, trying to save the world, escaping your fate...lots of parallels. (X is a lot more bloody of the two, and also doesn't have a proper ending yet.)

These stories are both about one person being the chosen one and blah blah saves the world, what sets them both apart is that the chosen one isnt exactly shure if they want to save the world or if they are even the right person for the job. They contain alot of twists and are both similarly enjoyable

Worth-reading series that defy most shoujo or shounen tropes, and can be enjoyed by both demographics. Their characters try to overcome destiny, fate and death, and most of them have painful memories in their past. Both manga have a great cast of characters, an interesting and original storyline, and solid character development. They have some genres in common (action, drama, supernatural) and can be pretty depressing and bloody. Also, in both there are two factions, composed of people who have non-ordinary powers and abilities, which fight against each other. Both are underappreciated, although being the best works of a famous mangaka group/duo (Clamp & Peach-Pit).

In both, the main guy is a cold serious teenager who has a huge power inside him. Both Kamui and Atsuma are also very psychically similar. In both the main guy, tries to stop the destruction of the world. Also, in these mangas the most powerful thing there is known as "kamui" and there are a group of people with powers. The main guy slowly starts to open his heart to his friends and stops avoiding them.

These 2 really remind me of each other. Although Akira is post apocalyptic, and X is pre apocalypse, both have 1 special person who can destroy the world. They have a very similar atmosphere as well, and both have a prophet type character.

Clamp is a renowned group of mangaka known for their visually stunning works, complex narratives, and captivating characters. Two of their most popular creations are "X/1999" and "Tokyo Babylon", which share a connected universe and delve into deep themes of fate, tragedy, and suffering. "X/1999" and "Tokyo Babylon" are definitely worth exploring if you enjoyed one of them. It is highly recommended to start with "Tokyo Babylon". In "X/1999", a battle between the Dragons of Earth and Dragons of Heaven questions the nature of humanity and the balance between good and evil. In "Tokyo Babylon", we follow Subaru Sumeragi, an exorcist who faces supernatural cases while  read more

Both manga deal with the supernatural as if it were part of everyday life. There are complex linkages between practitioners of spiritual skills and government and business organizations. The characters, despite being powerful practitioners of magic, have to deal with day-to-day bureaucracies, such as salary, employment, personal relationships, etc. In both, there is a character who is much more powerful than the rest of the cast. And every structure of alliances and conflicts takes place trying to entice or stop this character. In both series, anyone can die, even if is a important supporting character.

Are about young people with super-powers, where the male lead who has to deal with his life being turned upside down, and responding to people who want to use him. Both have a good deal of action, and LOTS of violence, blood, and gore. E's is more horrific. X has more drama. Similar art style; X has a more feminine aesthetic.

Despite having a different style and feel, these manga share a whole lot of similarities. - Both started their serialization in the 90’s - They have action and drama, even though GB has typical shounen elements (along with male-targeted fanservice) and is far less serious than X, which instead has many bishounen as well as BL bait - Common themes, such as granting wishes, fighting with ex-friends, protecting the loved ones, and world destruction - Opposite factions against each other, people with super powers but normal jobs - Large ensemble cast where supporting roles are as developed as the main ones - Several similar characters, many of which have a tragic  read more

These are both long, dark shoujo series from popular mangaka, but that's not where their similarities end. Both X and Angel Sanctuary have complex, twisting plots full of conflict on a large scale. Each has a large cast of developed characters that have personal issues and could stand a few therapy sessions. Finally, in each series destiny comes into play to some degree.

An apocalyptic drama, X also focuses on the End of the World as a forward-point of the manga. It deals in numerous characters, all richly detailed. The hero of the story, Kamui Shirou also begins to question his role in the events that are taking place, finding it difficult to accept that he is both the catalyst and the one who will decide the fate of the world and its inhabitants.

They are both mangas by CLAMP. They are both excellent reads that allow you to think a bit. X focuses more on action and drama, whereas xxxHOLiC progresses with more psychological.
