Both of these are a romance with an age difference in which the heroine is younger, has a secret, and spends a great deal of time pining after the hero. Both stories are driven by romance, but many chapters center on family and other relationships. They both have a mealoncholy-sweet air. They are sweet shoujo with a sad undertone. In HnN the hero's first love has died, in TnI both protagonists are dealing with their families being split apart.

Both are about the two protagonists, in which one of them dies, and later a supernatural even occurs: In HnN, the one who passed away reincarnates, and in Orange, the future self of the living protagonist sends a letter to the past, to her past self warning her about the future of her beloved. Both are really deep shoujo with bittersweet moments~

knowing your past life. rebirth and meeting their loved one once again.

Both mangas revolve around a sweet romance between a young girl and an older man. Both male main characters chose to pursue a relationship with the young love interests (despite social disdain) because the girls "saved" them from their incredibly sad and heavy pasts. Wonderfully sweet stories. I highly, highly recommend both.

Romance manga with a lot of fluffy moments, where the couple is reunited trought reincarnation.

Heartwarming stories about childrens growing up and dealing with their romance. Ran to haiiro is completely imersed in magic, while hajimari no niina, has only reincarnation as magical, while its world is completely normal.

This deserves a much better recomendation but I'm afraid I'm not that good at words. I can only say that both are really great pieces of work, masterpieces and no less. Both are about reincarnation while keeping the past memories. I loved both pretty much, they have the same atmosphere, Hajimari is about love but Heibon is about family, culture and merchants! Hajimari has more ANGST! (really made me cry my eyes out lots of times) but Heibon is purely fluffy (nothing to cry over, all happy stuff). I guarantee you will have a great time reading either of them. Enjoy!

Both Manga are about reincarnating and finding the love of your past life.

Both are heart warming stories with a touch of supernatural that contain: - A lively young girl that wants to be near the person she loves. - A tragic event that took place in her former life. - A promise that she wants to keep. - Male protagonist is way older than heroine.

These two have the same author and their stories are about their devotion to their first love! If you like one, surely you'll like the other!!!

Both are about the spirit/memories of a former loved one lingering and therefore bringing about a second chance.. it was cute, not amazing though..

Hajimari no Niina started as a one-shot short story just as Hotarubi no Mori e. While the first evolved into a 4 volumes manga, the later was adapted into a movie. These two significantly have different plots and characters and yet you wonder why I'd recommend them: These are perfect examples of short, bittersweet done right. You have a supernatural occurrence in both: In HNN it is reincarnation while in HNME is spirit folklore. However, both have a tormented hero and a much younger not annoying heroine (a child actually). Make no mistake, the hero is no lolicon nor he has any romantic feelings towards  read more

Three words define these manga: Sweet. Unique. Heartbreaking. (and both with a touch of supernatural); When you read a synopsis of a shoujo manga, you'll automatically think "here's another cliché with unoriginal plot where blushing weak girl meets popular boy, falls in love and there is a love triangle bla bla". These two manga however break the shoujo genre by adding strong willed heroines who have lovely flaws, who actually have similar names: Niina and Nino. These are the type of shoujo where you can feel every single feeling with intensity, pulling your heart strings at best, not focusing just in the romance, but mostly in  read more

A dead lover is somehow brought back to life, whether being just a fake or not.

Hajimari no Niina is significantly more happy-go-lucky and light hearted than Majime na Jikan with its romance and innocent protagonist. However, both manga confronted similar issues dealing with death and the consequences it brings to loved ones. This theme becomes less prevalent in the second portion of Hajimari no Niina, but the theme remains relatively similar in both manga.

Both feature a kind hearted heroine connected to somehow a supernatural situation. Both deal with loss, pain and building happiness, filled with bittersweet moments. Both are very heart warming stories that will leave you teary and smiling at the end.

Very cute heroines that have pure hearts and care deeply for the people around them. They also both have to work at getting their love interest to fall in love with them.

Both are adorable stories of a 10 year old protagonist somehow connected to the supernatural and that contain romance hints and lots of cute and bittersweet moments. Artwork is also lovely.
