some of them are BL or yuri. some of them just have random gay side characters. sometimes. the random side character is trans. if you are insane like me, you will read the whole thing just for that one queer character.

manga with queer relationships and minimal to no sexual content that i found likeable + felt not as fetishizing as most others
(not that there's anything wrong w sexual content but it's hard to find stuff in these genres that aren't mostly written for the smut)

Here are all the shoujo manga I think one should read in order to cover all bases. I organized this list by general theme, with publishing series at the bottom.

We start off with serious drama and slice of life series, then period and fantasy action and war series, then science-fiction series, then magical girl series, then series for younger audiences, then romance comedies, then drama slice of life romances, then horror and supernatural manga, and lastly, important ongoing series.

I'm currently using this list too, despite me being the one who created it!

shoujo and josei titles that may appeal more to shounen/seinen readers looking to get into the demographic but want to avoid the stereotypical shoujo romances told from the female POV

I only included the ones with confirmed relationships. Ship bait and other such implications(Devils and Realist) or when it's only played for comedy(Kaguyahime) don't count.
