Seemingly slice-of-life type of romance stories full of drama and comedy.

Amongst the comedy and slice-of-life aesthetic of both these romance titles lies heavy sequences of drama.

If you're looking for some oddball drama and romance, then Hetakoi and Domestic na Kanojo might be worth a try. Both series adapts romance with a lot of drama and generic style of storytelling revolving around relationships. The main male protagonist has similar personalities and is often confused about who he wants to be with. There's an also major turning points in both series' story as we find out more about the girls that the MC gets acquainted with.

Similar in that are multiple relationships with an unrequited love

Both of these romance serialisations explore the limitations and circumstances attached to interpersonal relationships. The main characters, and the people they become involved with, often experience emotional states that are dichotomous in nature (such as rejection and acceptance).

Hetakoi and Koibana Onsen is similar in two ways. First, there is a hot springs context which provides the circumstances for characters to meet and for relationships to develop. Second, there is emphasis on mature sexual relationships among characters that is profoundly built on many primitive emotions related to love and lust.

In both series, we follow college students who are romantically interested in one another, but for some reason have relationships with other students. Both are full of ecchi, comedy, drama, and romance.

The fact that boy engages in a sexual relationship with another girl trying to forget the one he truly loves is quite similar in both series. Also, the relationship development (except for the ending, which I won't spoil) are also similar. If you read Seishun Pop and you're searching for something less psychological but more drama-intense, try Hetakoi. If you read Hetakoi and you're searching for a short drama with a little bit of psychological themes and a lot more ecchi/sex scenes, then read Seishun Pop!.

It reminds me to Hetakoi due a guy who falls in love with the girl but then her old crush comes back of a large journey. The only difference between Hetokai and Stella to Mille Feuille is that the girl in the second is 8 years older.

Drama? Misunderstandings? Love triangle? Love regrets? Underrated Dumpster fire? Yesss, they both have some element of it...

In both of these series the main male lead is treated as though they are a harmless because they do not see them as men initially by most of the female characters. In Hetakoi because the main acts like a old man In Ane doki! he is treated like a child and the both have the Genres; -Comedy -Ecchi -Romance -School

MC is sort of a loser at first. The girl he likes is older than him. His rival is a ladiesman, and plays dirty. MC likes the girl right from the beginning, but the he's gonna need to deal with other girls before ending up with his loved one. Most of the drama in the series comes from a series of misunderstandings, just like in Maison Ikkoku. Hetakoi is a bit more explicit and has more sex scenes than Maison Ikkoku.

College? 2 girls, but one main interest throughout? Drama everywhere (that's associated with bad timing, confusion and indecisiveness)? That sounds familiar...

Two main heroes with problem with relationship with female. Two of them trying their best to reach the one they love. Lots of humor in similar taste and very crazy situations. If You liked one I'm sure second will be also in your taste

Both feature narratives showcasing the complexity of holding onto past loves as well as letting go for new experiences.

Confusion, confusion, confusion. This is what these seinen romances are about, they're both loaded with heaps of it. Sleeping with women to ease pain, it's a trademark cliche, and they both have it. If you like one, you'll surely like the other - though Hetakoi seems to be an easier, more light read; the story doesn't seem as heavy.

Genshiken is as "graphic" but a lot of the elements match up. If anything I would say Genshiken is more inncoent that Hetakoi.

Check out the manga Kimagure Orange Road if you liked this, it covers the main characters physical and mental growth from 15 to college read the manga first though because they don't cover a lot of things in the anime and the story and ending is completely different(but in a good way it has a really good twist ending! plus it has two movies that show what happens after the tv show)
