When I initially went into this manga I was completely optimistic. It's a shonen series after all, and I'm usually patient with them because it's a very generic field. After hearing that, you can imagine my surprise when, after nine chapters I finally gave up.

Story:
It's not much. I didn't read SWOT's one shot but from the comments of other people I can imagine that it was fairly good in comparison to this. A swot is apparently a person who studies a lot, but that doesn't matter it's just a trait of the main character that makes him annoying. This series goes for a tradition shonen ... battle manga, but going in you can really tell that it's out of its field. If you read bleach, you'll notice that this series has a lot in common with it. The saddest part about that is that SWOT has yet to break a double digit meaning this abysmal quality is directly out of no where, that's not to say bleach's isn't.

Art:
Mediocre as my score may have hinted. The characters barely look any different, so much so that I was stunned when a person said that one of them was attractive. Excluding maybe the main character, you'll see a lot of design recycling. But hey, the destruction is nicely done.

Characters:
Once again, this series shares something in common with Bleach. It's characters are very one dimensional, and in the first nine chapters after at least one try to develop them, it fails miserably. The protagonist is the worse of the offenders though, spending the majority of this series saying that he's fighting to get some peace and quiet till chapter eight where he spontaneously grows a heart. I wouldn't mind it, if his tsundere personality didn't just die from nothing.


Enjoyment:
If you're the type of person who likes senseless shonen violence, then this series is for you. For the last time, like bleach, the only reason the characters seem to exist is to beat the crap out of each other. Don't go in expecting an involving story because that's not even a prospect.

Overall:
Because my optimism is surprisingly durable, I'll say that this series may have a very minute chance of improving in the future if it doesn't get canceled first. Till then, it is crap and judging by how things are going from chapter nine, it will stay that for a while.

At first the series held a lot of promise. I liked the concept of a strong main character who only wants to study in a delinquent school and beats the crap out of anyone who disturbs him but deep down is a caring individual who would do anything for his friends.

Then the story (and the fighting) spiraled out of control and I found it hard to really focus on what the main storyline was. Ending with a completely random hasty ending I was very disappointed with the author. The story had so much potential which is why this series is so disappointing.

SWOT is a new manga by Sugita Naoya. Its about a guy named Manabizaki Kyou that studies all the time which earns him the nickname SWOT. He transfers into a school that he thinks that can get him to his dream job which is he wants to be a scientist for NASA and find UFO`s. What he didnt know when he tranfered in is that the school is full of delinquents who disturb him when hes studies, and thats when he goes of the rail because.This manga I like because the lead guy is funny and when it comes to anything other than studying (like ... friends or a romanitc relationships with the famous ex girl delinquent) and being a smart person he doesnt know how to explain it.His right hand man, Iwashida though is just like another weak and small school boy who doesnt know how to fight and when he gets rescued by Manabizaki for all of the rest of the manga Iwashida idolizes him. Hasuno Nene, the female main lead is a ex delinquent who gets mixed up with Manabizaki and Iwashida and becomes friends with them slowly. This manga I like very much and the characters are really easy to like. It has a bunch of potenical.

This is a manga that is nothing but a weak premise combined with typical gags, typical character, bland art out of the Bleach school of art, and the typical blandest possible boring setting (high school of delinquents). It is not like there are no good high school delinquent manga, but they have to provide some unique flair, some unique jokes, some unique premise (Angel Densetsu, Beelzebub, et cetera...). This one just offers up everything you have ever seen repackaged to be even blander.

The plot centers around a guy who is smart, nearly invincibly strong, and has no common sense. Also "tsundere" I guess. These aspects are talked about or demonstrated in 90% of panels.

The other characters so far are a whiny wimp who idolizes him nauseatingly, a "sexy" female, and an apparently about to be added to the cast swordsman who "only seeks the strongest fights." Yawnnnnnnn.

Anyway, this is a terrible addition to Shounen Jump. It is Katekyo Hitman Reborn without the superpowers. It is a gimmick WITHOUT any actual gimmicks. Boringgggg.

The second manga I've ever read. To put it in two words: It's alright.
Story: It had direction and it had a goal so yeah the plot line was good I knew where I as a reader would be going after the first few chapters.
Art: Not great, all the characters look pretty similar to me.
Character: Yes large variety, but no development I guess? One shot, so yes very short and probably reason why there was little character change except for in the end the protagonist realizes there's more to life than being a astronaut. (If you don't get the joke read the manga)
Enjoyment: So yes ... good for a light read I would have probably have kept on reading just because of it's plot line if it had been longer so the ending in my opinion was abrupt.
So a 6 overall hope this was useful, happy manga reading!
