The Rockman Zero manga interpretation and adaptation is quite the difficult beast to explain, straying from the original source material and having little in common with the video game series it was based off of from the beginning.
Art: The art style does little to portray the despair and mature tones that the games depicted, opting for a much more childish and cute environment and characters. The original style itself is recreated for the cover of the first volume, but is never used again, instead replaced with a childish Zero introduced in the second arc.

I don't even know where to start. As much as I sometimes like it when an adaptation diverges from the original source material, this case is ridiculous. Yes, let's take the most serious and traumatized character in the entire franchise and turn him into a cowardly idiot who screams and cries all the time and constantly needs a child's help to get himself together, yes THAT'S A GREAT IDEA!!
I just wonder how the guy who drew and wrote this can sleep at night. I looked at the other chapters and everything keeps getting worse. The excuse that this manga was published in a children's magazine ... |
