Both of these manga are by the same mangaka and have similar story lines. Common plots such as stripping others for a mark, and sci-fi features are prominent as well. 

Both manga feature a alternate world and fuse together the known universe with the fantasy universe. They both are easygoing and fun to watch, although Gate has the occasional dark share to it. Those Who Hunt Elves have much more slapstick comedy to it, but Gate uses the variety of characters and their interaction for the jokes. 

Those Who Hunt Elves may be a fantasy manga, but it shares Caravan Kidd's love for irreverent and ridiculous situational comedy. I mean, elf stripping? Huzzah. I'm sorry for the vagueness but I'm not sure how else to describe it, other than that they both just have the same taste. Pun intended.
