Synopsis

Tsukimi Kurashita has wanted to be a princess ever since her youth. However, at 18 years old, she finds herself far from that dream. Instead, she has become a plain and shy girl who spends most of her time and money on her biggest obsession: jellyfish.

Tsukimi lives with her fellow niche hobbyists in the all-female Amamizukan apartment complex, where the two most important rules are to avoid stylish people and men. Tsukimi has always abided by these rules until one evening—while rescuing a spotted jellyfish—she encounters a classy, princess-like woman. After allowing the girl to stay the night, Tsukimi is shocked to discover that the person is not a woman at all.

This story is hilarious and cute, while seemingly intense and terrifying too. I think it's unrealistic but still incredibly creative and tense at times. I really like all the characters and how deeply their character traits go. The fact that their dislikes stay as prominent as possible while still making way for development shows some realism in the fact that Not Everyone in a story like this ENJOYS banding together and working hard. Sometimes, manga sets a very unrealistic representation when it comes to the subject of powering through hardship and working hard to achieve a goal.

Super funny, romantic, cute, exciting and different from ...

Kuragehime is one of the most splendid manga I’ve read. Instead of a typical female protagonist, Kuragehime follows Tsukimi, a man-fearing otaku obsessed with jellyfish living in a girls dormitory with similarly antisocial otaku. Tsukimi’s life changes when she meets Kuranosuke (or Kurako) a cross-dressing rich boy who through a series of events ends up starting a fashion line with her and the rest of AMARS, the residents of the dorm.

Each chapter brought me joy and laughter, yet the plot was so fun and intriguing that I would always say to myself “just one more chapter!” (And then proceed to read five more!!!!!!!!)

This is a ...

I saw the anime in 2011 on Noitamina, I remember that I looked forward to the animes from that block because they were always different from the standard that everyone saw. Kuragehime is no different, a romantic comedy between a jellyfish otaku and a young crossdresser boy.

The beginning of the manga is very interesting, as it is a moment full of surprises, such as the bond that emerges between Tsukimi and Kuranosuke, which ends up being a modern version of Cinderella or Ugly Betty, considering that Tsukimi is clumsy and Kuranosuke It's always stylish.

Then the romance turns into a love triangle, when they include ...
