20 chapters in, and i feel disappointed.
This series had a promising start, the premise and art looked solid, but as I continue on and on, it appears like the author writes the story with whatever manhwa they last read as inspiration.
*slaps manhwa* This baby can fit so many power fantasy cliches.
Its like they disregard logic to force stereotypes.
Nitpicks/ Potential plotholes:
-Kyles hair, why is it white? Celia mentions that those of the Zerdinger lineage have black hair and red eyes, and the nobody of a father Kyle has, has brown NPC hair, so I can only think Kyle has white hair because "it looks
...
cool." (black hair would be equally cliche so I dont see a difference)
-epithets mean nothing: Celia "sword princess" Zerdinger gets clowned on in swordsmanship a few pages after the title is revealed. (also we barely see her ever use swords, usually she just uses fire magic xd) Likewise, in the first chapter Gullivan is called "the greatest magic genius of our kingdom!" only to later have 0 feats and be a total loser whenever we see them.
-where did the fairy blessing come from? I thought the first exam was some sort of recording of a past event so unless theres some time magic shenanigans, that shouldnt be a thing? Im under the impression the exam world was just the professor's magic, but the reward process sounds like it was taken straight from one of those level up manhwa [The reward for the clear is "The Fairy King's Pledge.]- type beat.
-None of the side characters have any agency, all they are meant to do is get hyped up as a big shot only to be humbled by Kyle in the same chapter.
-wasted characters, If you are going to introduce characters, give some a role, dont just keep introducing more and more characters we know nothing about but are supposed to care about. However, if you ARE doing that, DONT GIVE THEM SIMILAR DESIGNS. The wind mage and summoning major look the same and gullivan and the other orange haired kid look the same.
-How do you "lose aura" (haha besides getting clowned on by Kyle) Kyles mom is stated numerous times to have lost her aura somehow when rescuing somebody, but we never get a proper explaination; they just keep saying she "lost her aura" without elaboration. AND IN THE AURA CLASS THEY SAY SOME MUMBO JUMBO. so aura absorbs mana, is accumulated in the body, and burns mana to be used. This is explains jackshit, honestly.
-why is the FRESHMAN REPRESENTATIVE in THE LOWEST CLASS?? and why is the homeroom teacher just aizawa from MHA but with sass turned to 11. WHY IS KYLE, WHO GOT FULL SCORES ACROSS THE BOARD, *INCLUDING A LETTER OF RECCOMENDATION FROM THE KNIGHT PROFESSOR* IN THE LOSER CLASS. i know why. the author wrote it because theyre following the blueprint of manhwa cliches. (it is a human person writing the story right?)
-class 1 vs class 5 was so forced and convoluted it made me drop the series and write this review~

-Kudos to the author for explicitly shutting down Kyle x Celia ship ahead of time, given they are cousins and all.
