Ahhh, yes. Classic age-gap romance mangas with their ridiculous plot lines and questionable ethics. And then there’s classic me, who enjoys this slop like no other, probably warranted on an FBI list with how many I read.
Needless to say, this manga is RIDICULOUS. To get an age-gap narrative going you are bound to experience some ridiculous plot points, conveniences, and drama, but this might take the cake. I won’t get into the nuance of it, but the setup is basically your every other age-gap scuffle from the fmc’s family.
Though plot isn’t great, it does have a unique charm due to its cringe.
...
In a somewhat bad way, this manga does NOT hold back with its usage of words or puns — I mean, “Gungnir” was being innuendo’d as a dick at least 10 times in the first chapter alone. A lot of the jokes are really flat and cringy, but it’s also sort of charming in its own way. Also, there are some more “explorative” jokes with some pretty off humor you wouldn’t see in usual romance mangas, which added to the silliness.
As for the character themselves… yup, morally questionable like always! But hey, the mc is a good human being for not wanting to stick his “Gungnir” through her “dam” and “siege her.” I wish I was kidding when I used those words, but no, the author wrote that. Mc’s “unique” in his own way by having no shame at all to look at a freshman’s body, but he doesn’t cross any lines cuz wholesomeness.
The fmc is decent enough — she has her own sad/traumatic backstory, and it isn’t written horribly, but like the plot, it’s very weak/convenient.
A decent age-gap romance manga with its off-the-rails humor and cringe, making quite an identity. Is it a great identity? uhhh. It’s something, that’s for sure.
