I seriously love everything about this, but I also hate it. I read around 15 chapters of the web comic prior to the manga (this) to get a full understanding of the background, and I wanted to see some clear revisions that would’ve made the web comic “manga-worthy.”
Instead, there were only small additions like the fmc’s thoughts, which, don’t get me wrong, helped a lot to the story, but there were just so many other gaps that the manga does not address.
To be honest, as a manga, the pacing is really weird — scenes that would usually be given some chapters to develop in
...
another manga are instead filled with dialogues like “this happened.” The plot points are also interesting and valid, but they are also very sudden — it’s almost like reading a chapter but you felt like you skipped a chapter because of the drastic change in every scene.
This comes from the manga not really being a separate entity but rather a compilation of the webcomic chapters.
Enough with the disappointed taping, this is honestly really engaging — the plot is relatively weird and original, but it incorporates a lot of wholesome moments with plenty of character development.
The characters are nothing short of amazing, as they all add so much to the story — the side characters add the necessary humor, while the main cast fulfill the role of making everything wholesome and cute.
Besides for the pacing being a bit wonky sometimes, the story is undoubtedly good; the author is clearly cooking with the plot points, but I wish he/she spent a little more time on subtle developments.
