“This manga should be illegal.
What is this?
This is way too cute and wholesome for mankind — it’s just so deadly.
My heart is stopping from all the sugar.”
Any compliment or phrase to describe the sweetness in this manga can’t even properly describe this masterpiece of a cute romcom — I kid you not, I can’t recall a time where I wasn’t smiling or laughing throughout 13 chapters of this manga.
I genuinely don’t enjoy cute mangas due to how forced the characters come off as, and if there’s no drama the same old plot line gets old relatively quickly. Somehow, though, this manga manages to
...
avoid or de-escalate every drama plot point possible that would usually drag on for 10 chapters while maintaining the same engagement that a drama romcom would have.
The plot of this manga isn’t forced — I thought it would be a bit gimmicky with how the premises of “she’s just like the girl from my favorite manga” or “she’s so popular and is from an esteemed family…” but a lot of the developments make sense and are heartfelt.
As for the plot points, it’s the usual relationship progressions between the main cast, but the author somehow made every scene as wholesome and cute as possible. It’s hard to explain, but the author really did something by making the female lead as likable as possible without her being too quirky/forced.
Accompanied by some relatively good comedy, this manga really had me engaged from start to finish; I thought I just never liked pure wholesome romcoms, but it turns out it was just an issue with the writing, as this manga is one of a kind despite its gimmicks.
