I’ve been dreading to write a review on this because I truly don’t know what this manwha did wrong to warrant a drop. What I can say, though, is that the story wasn’t interesting, and it was rather underwhelming despite its original plot line.
The story telling was rather fine, but it was just really slow-paced. It reminded me of a kdrama yet even more drawn-out with interactions (I’ve only watched 1 kdrama in my lifetime). The slow-pacing and development created a lack of interest or enjoyment in each chapter; they were readable, but it wasn’t more fun than a fantasy manga nor was it more
...
heartwarming than a romance manga.
Was it the lack of mood? The atmosphere felt a bit one-dimensional due to the lack of emotions from the mc and fmc — the most enjoyable times, though, were when the atmosphere was flirtatious accidentally, which the Manhwa didn’t execute much of.
The chemistry between the fmc and mc isn’t the best, and the side characters don’t add much to the story at all — there’s a rather interesting female side/main character, but she doesn’t get the necessary screen time when needed, making her story or contribution feeling like wasted potential.
It’s unfortunate for a story with a relatively original plot to be … boring? I still read 12 chapters the amount available as of this review), but I wasn’t engaged in the story besides for the opening chapters where there was the most back-and-forth between the mc and fmc (the highlight). The Manhwa starts off interesting enough, but it fails to retain interest due to the lack of oomph.
