I know it may seem like two completely different manga one is sport other is martial arts. But after reading them ull know they have a lot in common. Both - have a protagonist who starts out as idiot rookie but actually are genius at what they do. -Protagonist learn new skills at unbelievable speed. -protagonist are first reluctant to play basketball/learn martial art but do so for a girl. And finally both are extremely good...

Both of the protagonist start out kind of strong but they really have a lot of potential to get insanely strong. Both of them also has a some kind of mysterious background that nones really knows of. They are also both casted in the old murim where the weak obey the strong. And both of them also have very, very similar humor. The art is also quite similar with that kind of old stylish look. If you like a strong protagonist with a good story and great humor then I recommend it.

If you used to laugh your heart out with Dragon Ball and it's hilarious comedy you will feel at ease reading Ruler of the Land. Both follow a monogatari style, basically it's the growth of the main character as time passes by. Our main characters live in their own way in a world of Martial Arts; Ruler of the Land abuses of ecchi and sarcasm to make a hilarious series worthy of a comedy Masterpiece, and with enough chapters to last a story like Dragon Ball with their inner plot that isn't our main focus on the story.

Have you ever wished for a martial arts manga that contained as much action, as many flashy named moves and extreme ki strikes as Ruler of the Land, but set in modern times?! No, this isn't the breaker, this is Ping, the martial arts manga involving men! and ladies! and old ladies that look young! Featuring your favourite move "insert two adjectives, a noun, and the word 'strike' here" and just as much action as you can fit into a concise manga, which could have been written as a modern day sequel to the murim life in modern times!

PLEASE READ~ It's hard to make a recommendation for "Ruler of the Land" because it is awesome in its own way. Both ROTL and Kenshin are great fantasy historical battle manga. While Kenshin is great at story and characters, ROTL is better as a comedy and introduces a wide range of characters with SUPER COOL BATTLE TECHNIQUES. Number one recommendation!

While Ruler of the Land is set in the past while The Breaker is set up in Modern society, both share a couple similarities. Both main characters start off knowing almost no Martial Arts however improve at a very rapid pace although the reason why is for different reasons (both why they improve so fast and why they started from knowing none). Also both involve the "Murim" or martial arts world, and therefore deal with strifes between different Martial Arts Clans. It should be noted however that while both are usually pretty serious during fights, Ruler of the Land has many more comedic moments due  read more
