Wholesome romance mangas are quite the interesting read despite the lack of drama due to the direction of the storyline and the author’s take on the essential characters; as for this manga, the characters are too one-dimensional, while the plot is too cliche and fast-paced, though, it’s still somewhat soothing and entertaining.
Like noted before, the plot is tropey and fast-paced; in other words, there’s a lot of unnoticed and subtle time skips to force a “cliche” event to happen. This then causes the manga’s plotline/storytelling to be more similar to a webcomic’s progression, as there’s not much of a smooth sense of flow in
...
the developments. Despite this, it’s still entertaining due to the wholesomeness from the character interactions.
In most shounen romance mangas, the fml is the main focal point of the story, however, the heroine in this manga was rather basic, and she became pretty uninteresting due to how archetypal her personality is. To compensate, the mc is a lot more likable and reasonable despite him being a self-inserted “nice guy.” Throughout the addition and subtraction of main or disposable characters, the mc rizzed me up the most, not the fmc.
There’s just not much uniqueness in this manga that will cause it to be remembered and craved for; without uniqueness, there must be interesting and unique characters, but this manga also fails to do that due to its faster progression, causing less time for the characters to be accustomed to and have depth. Don’t get me wrong, this is still enjoyable, but it’s nothing revolutionary nor memorable.
