The Resourceful Little Consort is honestly a pleasant reincarnation story, capturing a lot of what similar tropes (being reincarnated as a child in a fantasy world) honestly end up lacking for me. Please keep in mind that I am reviewing this as the story is still ongoing with 92 chapters currently. So things might change with the more we progress. Keep in mind that I will be discussing mild spoilers for this review.
First and foremost, I genuinely love how our MC has a hard time accepting, trusting, and feel deserving of the love she is being given. A lot of MCs in these kinds of

story tropes often easily get over this hurdle, even when knowing that some of these people will play a role in their deaths. Sanya, whom didn't receive much love in her past life and knows of the novel's future, really struggles to understand and trust that these characters hold affection for her. The way her internal struggle was written was just really well done, it feels realistic and helps me understand Sanya's self-esteem issues and fears. Even after coming to trust and confide in the love she receives, she still fears that it will all be taken away. It is nice to see an MC who doesn't just struggle with that mindset for the first 10 chapters and then move on immediately.
This story contains a good amount of found family, which I am an absolute sucker for. At first, I was concerned about this story having the concubines fighting over the love for Sanyu but my worries dissipated as I continued reading. The bond all the characters have with Sanyu (the empress, concubines, and even the workers) is extremely wholesome. They sometimes have a playful rivalry to be her parent, but never any huge jealous or dramatic fighting. In fact, a lot of them work together to support Sanyu in any way they can. It is so refreshing to see the bonds that grow between the concubines and empress over their mutual care of Sanyu.
The only issue I had with the story was the pacing in the middle of season 2. The plot progression with the main threat just felt very rushed and sudden, especially during the climax when the fighting began. The jump was so abrupt from chapter 73 to 74, that I genuinely thought I had missed a couple of chapters with how out of nowhere it became. Other than that, the rest of the pacing seemed pretty good in my opinion. I'm curious as to what they have in store for us in season 3 when it releases and what hurdles our cast will face.
Overall: The story is a refreshing take of the reincarnation trope, the art is cute, and it has a lovable cast of characters. Definitely worth a shot to read.
