This manga absolutely gutted me. I'm not one to be emotional, especially when reading, but after finishing this I ended up crying myself to sleep. A really bittersweet manga focusing on secrets, grief, and regret.
I found this story to be really interesting. I've seen many stories have their own takes on twin characters, and usually they end up falling under a stereotypical personality type. However, My Gemini had a more unique and in-depth personality dynamic for both the siblings. They are much more than being each other's twin half. Both siblings have their own personalities, secrets, feelings, and relationships outside of each other. The bond
...
with each other as well is extremely in-depth and complex; displaying sibling love, admiration, and jealousy.
I found how the story handled the mystery to be extremely well. I tend to find it easy to determine who is who in identical twin stories like this. However, this one really stumped me. Whenever I thought I was completely sure of myself, something else would happen to make me second guess myself. It is hard to figure out which is which when, even the siblings at times, have a hard time figuring out who they are in that moment.
A really solid storyline with interesting characters and relationships. It finished strongly with an extremely bittersweet ending to suit the characters.

Being completely honest, it has been a while since I last felt so hyped up waiting for the next episode of an anime to release each week. Arte was a breathe of fresh air, giving me the impatience for another episode that I used to have back when I first had started watching simulcast anime. I had never felt an urge to just read the manga to an anime so early on in the show, and I will 100% be binging the manga after this.
Story (8/10):
The story was simple yet so well thought-out. Revolving around what it would be like to
...
be a noble girl aspiring to be an artist in that time period. In the Renaissance era, it was very uncommon for women to be working in most fields, including art. The author did a good job at showing the scrutiny and questioning, along with the trials and benefits, a woman would get when trying to make a profession out of art in that time. Not only did they bring attention to that but they also brought attention to what being a noble was like, what being poor was like, being a prostitute, and went into factual details about being an art apprentice/artist in the Renaissance era. I really enjoyed seeing other factors of what living in the Renaissance is like, it made it more authentic and the story wouldn't have had the same impact on me if it was just about what a woman would face being an artist then. If you believed this was a shoujo where the main character falls in love, has others fall for her, and focuses solely on romance then I would like to inform you that that is false. At the beginning (around two or three eps in) Arte does develop a crush on Leo, but her dream and work comes first and the story puts its focus on her art journey rather than having her pursue Leo and have romantic shoujo moments (at least in the 12 eps given). None of the other boys in the show fall for her and have romantic moments with her, if they did develop feelings for her it was not focused on or clearly admitted.
Art (8/10):
The art was fairly good, wasn't spectacular, but nothing to hate. I believe it had some moments where it looked off but otherwise it stayed consistent. Animation quality was decent as well, something you would see out of an average slice of life anime.
Sound (8/10):
The opening and ending songs were lovely, and I made sure not to skip the songs a couple times throughout the anime just to listen to them. The ending song was my favorite, the composition fit the anime and gave me a Renaissance like vibe. The voices of the characters fit well and the voice acting was good.
Character (7/10):
The characters were all enjoyable, they all had different personalities and backgrounds that stood out from one another and were fleshed out well. While the characters would learn and grow, they never really changed in personality. They remained the same person they were before with small changes (Ex. Arte getting physically stronger, better at art, and learning more about what it truly means being a noble woman aspiring to be an artist. Angelo's kind personality stayed with slight changes of him realizing women can do things themselves.). I also had a problem with the way Darcia showed up, she never really had her own episode or any moment centering around her character. She just kinda popped out of nowhere at the beginning of an episode.
Enjoyment (9/10):
Like I said earlier, it had been a while since I had been so hyped up for another episode each week and it was the first time I felt so compelled to read the manga while the anime was still around its third episode. I loved the concept, the trials, the characters, the art facts, the time period, etc. and I am excited to read the manga.
Overall (8/10):
I had a blast going through this series and would definitely recommend giving this anime a chance. It isn't a ground-breaking anime, it isn't a horrible one either, but it will give you a breathe of fresh air. It is especially a good watch for someone someone bored, wanting a short well-written show to watch and relax to.
I hope this review helps!

I am usually someone who does not enjoy Isekai anime. I find the stories to fall flat, be overused, and it usually becomes harem focused. I do like Konosuba, Log Horizon, and a bit of the 1st half of SAO season 1 but I personally enjoyed Shinchou Yuusha a lot more.
Story 8/10 **SPOILERS**
I found the story to be quite entertaining. From the title alone, you could probably tell there was going to be a lot of comedy involved in the story. They take his overly cautious nature to the max, he actually burned down a whole village just to cleanup
...
the remains of one of the Four Great Kings of the Demon Lord's army. The reason for him doing that was "She might come back from her remains." I found myself chuckling a lot. The show was thankfully not completely comedy based, they had an actual story and was not entirely just gags. The show even got pretty serious at points, with the big reveal in episode 11 I found myself tearing up a bit. Sure, there was a bit of a "harem" but it wasn't a big focus. The only people that liked the hero was our main goddess, the goddess of war (who wasn't focused on much), and then the goddess of archery (She might not even count. She lusted for all the heroes so she didn't truly like him). If you were worried about the show being harem focused and/or comedy without plot, then I can assure you that, that is not the case for this anime.
Art 8/10
The art throughout it was fantastic. It was pleasing to look at and it remained consistent throughout the show. There was a lot of comedic faces and gestures that they made throughout the anime that was really well done. Although there were some scenes I felt fell a bit flat though, mostly during the fights. I am not sure how to explain what I mean but I remember thinking that the fights could have been done better at points.
Sound 8/10
The only thing I have to base the sound off of is the opening and the voice acting. I can't seem to remember any of the sound effects or music throughout the series. The opening song is an absolute jam, I found myself not being able to skip the opening at all throughout the series because I wanted to listen to it more. The voice acting was amazing as well. All the voices fit the characters well. I personally enjoyed when they would break out into English, it wasn't really cringey compared other English moments in anime. In fact, some of the English added hilarity to the show.
Characters 8/10
The characters were all unique and interesting to watch. For the most part it focused entirely on the hero, the goddess, and their party. I personally preferred that for the series since I would rather learn more about the main group and how they develop than the other side characters/goddesses they interacted with throughout the show. Thanks to them focusing on the main cast, I developed a connection with them which made certain scenes that came up all the more impactful.
Enjoyment 9/10
Like I said at the beginning, I tend to not enjoy Isekai anime. I felt even Konosuba and Log Horizon get dull at points. But with Shinchou Yuusha, I enjoyed every bit of it. It caught my attention and kept it throughout the entirety of it running. It made me laugh, it made me tear up...it kept me interested.
Overall 8/10
This is personally, the best Isekai anime I have watched to date. It might not compare to other anime in different genres but this certainly takes the cake in Isekai for me. I highly recommend giving this anime a watch.
