Ah yes, the ever increasing trope of being reincarnated into a novel. Within this, there are bound to be horrific, mediocre, and amazing writings. However, I Became The Mad Emperor, sadly, is not the ladder.
In said manwha, the mc is a reader like us. However, he seems to be too much of a reader. So much so that it’s almost like he chooses the route on an auto battle game and watches the rest happen. He is severely affected by the original host’s attitude yet when he is supposedly cured, he still acts the same with no further elaboration. Along with the countless plot

holes, the art, to me, gives off a mixed reaction.
The fights and general art is unique for a manwha’s standard, but I don’t think the artist ever learned how to draw normal looking faces. In my opinion, the manwha would’ve been much better if the author elaborated a bit more on the actual mc and its original story. To be honest though, a regression from said mad emperor would’ve flowed much better than the reincarnate into a novel trope.
As of now, the mc doesn’t have a personality outside said original host, and for that reason alone, it’s yet another subpar manwha.
