This is one of the most revolting mangas I’ve seen in a fat minute for two reasons: portrayal of religion (Christianity) and straight up pedophilia. With that being said, I have a bias against the concept of this manga, since I am Christian, so take this review or most of the negatives with a grain of salt — as for the pedophilia part, it’s just bad.
To start off with, no character in this manga is sane or rational — child abuse? Oppressive religion? A corrupt angel? Pedophiles left and right? A brash and naive child? Yes to all of the above. Without diving into

spoilers, all of the characters are batshit crazy, and there’s just this huge looming plot hole due to each of their idiocies to either be so brash to covet a literal child or naive enough to not worry or pay attention to any of their surroundings.
Of course, most plot holes can be chalked up to the answer of “he’s just a child; he’s been mentally and physically abused,” but I find this a half-assed way as to not write rational or deep characters. As for the side characters, pedophilia. Yup. That’s all I have to say about them. Think about how deep every cliche yandere shotacon is written in a story, and you get whatever this manga made.
Enough of the characters, let’s get onto the actual plot and storytelling: The storytelling of this manga isn’t bad, since the art remedies the seriousness and “wholesomeness” of the manga quite well. However, this comes with a brutally large amount of plot holes and direct insertions of “plot” that become the unexplained, making the story even more idiotic than it should be. Most of the developments in this manga have no natural progression; instead, they are just inserted into the plot for the “wow factor” the manga provides by being morbid at times.
I would gladly and would love to rate this manga much lower than I did, but by the pure shock of each development made me slightly — very slight — curious about how this garbage story would need.
On a somewhat off topic note — For crying out loud Japan, would it have been possible to be normal for once and not write a story about a 10 year old being sexualized each chapter with the moral and message of the story being “religion bad and stupid. Haha! Look at how creepy and weird it makes you!”
You guys know this is just my opinion, right?
