June Peach started off with two short but felt tragedies followed by a perfect, long heart-stopping romance between our two leads. It was so perfect and ran through chapter after chapter that you couldn't help but feel that ominous feeling seeping in. It felt like riding a rollercoaster to the highest peak before the hurling drop.
Nothing could've prepared me for that drop.
I was kind of aware that this manhwa is partly a tragedy but I did not expect to go through that tragedy with the character. I had to
...
relive every single pain and I am NOT okay. I need to exchange words with the author because who made them so sad that they could write something this messed up? I thought this was a simple, cookie-cutter regression manhwa with blown-up proportioned drama but instead, I actually got a huge, mind-blowing plot. A plot so well drawn out and elaborated that you simply cannot fault it, and all you can do is cry for the tragedy these characters have to go through just because.
I'm still reeling from the aftermath of this story. The author and artist had a way of writing and drawing sadness so beautifully that you can't help but grab your hair in frustration and scream. The endless sorrow that came as the price for a small amount of happiness spanned for so long and was painstakingly slow, it was antagonizing threading through this manhwa. I could've stopped and dropped this but it was impossible. Somewhere along the way, I was already rooting for a happy ending or at least some semblance of hope.
This manhwa was just a beautiful tragedy and I kind of think I deserve like twenty bonus chapters for the suffering I went through but I'll take what I can get. The revelations were just so heartbreaking but finishing it has never felt so rewarding. If you want a good cry, here's the story to go for.
Also, fuck peaches.
