Both involve the anthropomorphisation of historical figures or countries into a manga style. They both contain jokes and references pertaining to the histories of their characters. Afterschool Charisma is a much more serious manga than Hetalia, and is, in my opinion, the better of the two, but I think anyone who has an interest or knowledge of history will enjoy both.

Houkago no Charisma features clones of great people - Einstein, Mozart, John F. Kennedy (and Hitler!!), etc. all going to the same academy as students to achieve the greatness of their predecessors. Many of them end up going down the same paths of them. If you like the manga version of Mein Kampf, you may like HnC too.

The two share a similar tone, theme, and central conflict. Both deal with the morality and ethics of scientifically making people, whether those people are truly human, and if they should be treated as human or as sub-human.

Both Afterschool Charisma and Drifters feature characters based on historical figures as main characters and, in same cases, derive inspiration from the very same historical figures, including the French heroine Jeanne d'Arc and the "mad monk" Grigori Efimovich Rasputin. All-in-all, fans who enjoy seeing historical figures in anime and manga will probably enjoy both series.

Both deal with cloning and "playing with human lives" via experimentation, and the consequences. Afterschool is more fantasy, and deals with the social aspect. Eternal is much more heavy, and deals with the ethical aspect.

There is a similar vibe between Aphorism and Afterschool Charisma -- although the latter leans in more towards mystery and psychological factors rather than fantasy and horror. In both titles, a certain group of students is given focus and bond together against the conflicts it faces. Despite having rather dark themes, both titles also have quite amusing comedy inserts every once in a while to help lighten the mood of the situation.

Both are historical themed works by Kimiko Suekane; both feature mysterious, plotting villians and both feature Rasputin as a character.
