First, let's talk about the elephant in the room; is it a BL? My answer after 13 chapters is... no, but it could lead there.
Now, let's review this manga for what it is instead of what it should be, shall we?
STORY AND THEMES
We have two protagonists: Taku, a countryside high schooler obsessed with Sparks, an idol group whose bias is Kei, the second lead. Kei goes to Taku's town to recover from mental burnout. The premise is like a 2010's Wattpad fanfiction, ngl, but the development is more like a slice of life coming-of-age story. We learn that Kei is more than an idol; he

can do more things, and Taku is someone finding himself. Of course, if your favorite idol lives next to your house, you can be a little protective of this "superior" position. I really want to read more and know more about their growth.
SCHRÖDINGER'S BL
As I explained before, the manga isn't BL, so why bother with this section? Well, because there's a little hope for them to be more than friends. I can't expand much since this is a spoiler-free review, but the vibe is similar to another BL I read some time ago where they realized each other's feelings in the last chapter and it had a beautiful finale. So far, they might still be only friends, but the subtext is there, so I would still recommend the manga to a BL fan.
CONCLUSION
The manga follows the simple premise of "Successful artist from Tokyo moves to the countryside and meets someone special there" and develops the friendship of two growing men in their youth. I'm curious about the future and where it leads to.
