The Japan Media Arts Festival is an annual festival held since 1997 by Japan's Agency for Cultural Affairs. The festival begins with an open competition and culminates with the awarding of several prizes and an exhibition. Tragedy is a genre of drama based on human suffering and, mainly, the terrible or sorrowful events that befall a main character. In these manga, the Protagonist experiences trauma from war or apocalyptic-like scenarios. These deal with realistic portrayals of the mental and physical effects war has left many lives with as well as those whom are ripped from their lives and may never return again... These are series you can read within 1 volume, I tried adding as many series that aren't a collection of One-Shots and are full stories! all genres, all demographics! Manga that depict the life of people during World War 2 and its consequences. List may be incomplete since it only contains series that I'm currently aware of. A collection of amazing 1 volume manga that can be read in under 1 hour, for anyone wanting a quick but fulfilling read. "Often considered to be untranslatable, mono no aware refers to the bittersweet realization of the ephemeral nature of all things. It is the awareness that everything in existence is temporary. The fleetingness of youth, the fading of romance, and the changing of seasons are not to be mourned, but cherished and appreciated in their impermanence, for that is where their beauty comes from." (Theculturetrip.com) Manga critical of war and militarism. Showing the atrocities of war, the consequences of it or promoting diplomacy and peaceful conflict resolution. Some of them also critically dealing with wars in Japanese history. The other half of the Showa Era stack. Same rules just like other stacks and this will be last one i do for a while. If you made it so far, you must like short manga just as much as I do. |
