This is a webtoon that not many people know, those who have read it already know what a good story this is. Death's game is a story about a guy who decides to end his life, he gives up just like the way some of us in the real life have thought about doing. But dont get me wrong it may be depressing but by the end of it you will have learnt a lesson about life and why even in the worst situations you shouldn't give up.

It has good art and realistic charachters which is a plus for a story like this.
If you like ... psychological trillers, this is for you. Go and check it out. :)

Ps: Im not a proffesional reviewer and only made this review because there are no reviews for this and its kinda sad.

I started it with no expectations and it totally captured me, without a doubt a work that has been treated unfairly. Story and script with coherence, a plot of the best, actions that make sense, very well defined and characterized characters and a very good art (not the best art I've seen but it's very good anyway).

And although there are only a few chapters the plot unfolds very well, it is better that they are few and of quality.
If you are one of those who like that the character shows a development and can even leave you teachings, no doubt this is a work that ... you have to read. It became one of my favorites.

Did you know that there are thousands upon thousands or even millions already that with the theme named "reincarnation"? "Time travel" is also growing in number also, with mahua from Chinese and mahwa from Korea is starting to taking more and more chunks of this market of manga with their version, Japan may still hold their prime right now but it won't last long considering their population downfall and most good mangas are from senior people that is already 40 to even 70 already, at one point, they will be gone and with that may mark the end of their domination.
Even though saying like that ... seems like this market is blooming with so many works, the amount of true good works to read seems never increase its percentage from the dawn of manga booming of the 70s and 80s which is literally 50 years ago already, the amount of crap this industry, especially in these 3 countries, pumping out daily (not monthly!) is insane, like they have been using AI writing mimic works of literature from human since its invention or something, like I doubt that some of those works are really written by human.
So, with that said, is this just another pile of garbage that being pumped like every other trash beside it? Well, the first few chapters literally feel like that. I would say that a third of it feels like that I almost get betrayed again, just like many mahwas before it if it is not because of a little "twist" it throws in, cutting short the progress of the life of a certain important character whom I won't spoil the name.
This mahwa is not like those superpowers, op, cheat, hack, leveling up like this garbage kind of mahwas (Yea, I said it, Solo Leveling is bad). It is not like those light heart romances or villainous bullcrap that being thrown in the market daily. No, this is a serious mahwa like those few that I have read before, like the legendary Annarasumanara which I would call the golden standard of reality surrealism piece of art than a mahwa (Will write a review on it one day).
This mahwa is not as deep as that, but with such a unique story that I haven't seen yet until now, they dealt it in with the moral, the thought of suicide, Is killing a person truly bad? Is life meaningless when one day you can just die? The regret, the learning, the growing, the acceptance with the silliness of the art style that gives me way more valuable knowledge about what life is, answering or not really, it is just opening for me a new perspective of life, a perspective of a maniac whom has the rationality to maintain the discretion and to not scared by the fear of losing one's life, the will of standing straight and the courage to protect someone, because in the end, we are all humans and after all the things that have happened, we can't stray away but have to show some of our own humanity to other people...
The art style like I said above is kind of silly, nothing new, not unique, It is like those normal mahwa that you have read. But the story is what it sells out to the audience, with a somewhat normal way of leading the story, it is enough to shine the hidden genius of how creative the author on using the theme of reincarnation and supernature but makes it a true life experience that can help you learn more than you are high when you are reading other stuff. The characters are also quite cool in their own, probably because of the story has done a heavy lifting, otherwise, this would be such a boring mahwa.
Anyway, here is the scoresheet :

Story : 11/10
Writing : 7.5/10
Enjoyment : 9/10 (never get a new high of emotion while reading through, but never get bored when reading through the whole mahwa, which is an astounding achievement on itself already, keep your audience focus on your story from start to finish is very good)
Overall : It is a 9/10, close to it, may change the score when revisiting it one day or finding a much better version of the mahwa .

Fantastic premise, outstanding potential... and insanely frustrating.

If you start reading this webtoon, you'll probably be taken in just as I was. Captivated by the wonderful soft art style, the intriguing premise, and full of curiosity as you wonder what'll happen next. But with all the time I spent reading this, I wish someone had warned me that it wouldn't be worth my while.

I'm not saying it's boring. Far from it. The plot alone keeps you invested! But then, you may ask, "in that case, what makes it so terrible that you're trying to warn us not to touch it?"

I'll tell you.

Just like MAL's description says ... - this manga is about a man who is forcefully put into other people's bodies again and again, to be given a sort of 'second chance' to live, while simultaneously being taught that death shouldn't be taken lightly. And the main character Yijae Choi is a very selfish guy who clearly has some growing to do. On its own, this is perfectly fine. After all, what's a main character without a good character arc to be had, right? ESPECIALLY for a plotline like that, where the entire story revolves around HIM and HIS attitude towards life and death. If you didn't have any kind of character arc or character growth throughout the story, well - that wouldn't be much of a story, would it? Without character development, you'd just have to follow a selfish jerk who never learns, and that'd be no fun at all.

... Except, that's precisely why this webtoon isn't very good.

You go through chapter after chapter of this character learning hard lessons... except he never seems to actually learn. The opportunities for character growth are EVERYWHERE, yet he remains absolutely selfish and flippant no matter what happens to him. You can't possibly like him, because he stays a selfish jerk through practically the whole series. His "character arc" is only as good as the first chapter, and the last chapter. You might as well skip most chapters in-between, because they feel like they've done absolutely nothing except give readers the illusion that something might be happening in this guy's heart, when in fact, nothing really is. After a while, you start to realize that even though the 'setting' is changing to make the webtoon feel like it's going somewhere, HE is going nowhere. And thus, the story itself, is also going nowhere. It's like a colorful illusion, and you don't realize just how "nowhere" the story is going until over half his lives are gone and you realize he's the exact same guy as when you began.

It's just a story of watching this guy suffer, be selfish, suffer, be greedy, and suffer some more - and no matter how many times he sees how being a terrible person doesn't pay off, no matter how many times he *has the chance to make up for it,* he never does. And just when you think he MIGHT be learning, life metaphorically kicks him in the face and he just doesn't learn anyway. After a while, you start to feel like you're wasting your time, sighing in frustration and rolling your eyes thinking "Okay - he's going into his next life, but so what? Not like it'll end any differently than last time."

And for a manga where his character growth is what the manga is ABOUT, it's just unacceptable. You can't have a "story about character growth" that doesn't include character growth.

I've never experienced more frustration from reading something than this. The plot is interesting, but the execution is downright frustrating and just plain disappointing. I wish I could give it a 1, but the art and """entertainment value""" it provides 'generally' in spite of the huge writing flaws, means I can't go much lower than a 3.

If you wanna skim for morbid curiosity, fine. If you want some shallow entertainment with a "qUiRkY plotline" and some "wow factor" then fine. But if you're looking for an actually good story, steer clear. There isn't much here beyond colorful settings and an unintentional empty promise by the author.
