Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (7/24 chp)
This manga starts out so promising, with Ayaka trying to show off to her senpai at work, Hiroko. As of chapter seven, though, I find myself quite displeased with the progress of the story.

Each chapter has Ayaka *flaunting* herself to Hiroko, and sometimes even drunkenly confessing to her. However, Hiroko, herself a lesbian, keeps turning her down because she believes Ayaka to be a "straight" girl. The first two times, it is kind of understandable, I suppose. After a certain karaoke incident and tearful confession on Ayaka's part, it really began to get old. I understand this may be a form of "comedy" or "gag," ...

Preliminary (1/24 chp)
The "straight girl paranoia" gag gets old yes but there's a good reason why the senior is so guarded. It's pretty fucked and a social commentary on society, especially Japan's society on women. There was a breakthrough between the two though. It has drama that hits you and light moments that proves the saying "comedy and tragedy are two sides of the same coin"

The characters are written really well. They didn't act unreasonable, except for the senior of course with the gag of straight girl paranoia, but everyone else was fine.

The gag does draaaaaag on for a couple more chapters than it should've and ...

First of all, let me just say it is TRULY refreshing to read a manga that's willing to use the L word and grapple with the baggage that unfortunately comes with being gay in a straight society. It may just be my preference, but I find it more gratifying to read about ugly realities than fictional perfect worlds, and I can relate better to the characters involved.

The age gap turned me away from this one when I first heard about it, I admit, but after giving it an honest try a few years down the line (once I had exhausted enough of my backlog that ...

I started this manga thinking it would just be some light-hearted fluff to read before bed. Instead, I got a pretty unique series—one that isn’t afraid to touch on real societal issues. It doesn’t just drop the characters into some pre-made world where no one bats an eye at a homosexual relationship, and that’s something I don’t see too often.

The early chapters felt a bit repetitive, with Hiroko stuck in denial over and over again. Honestly, you could cut the number of these chapters in half without losing much of the plot. That said, the story picks up towards the end and gets pretty interesting. ...
