Both are about a painter and their models and how their relationships grow as each spend more and more time together. Both also deals with how they overcome their hardships hand in hand.

Young women work as models for eccentric (and hot) young male artists. The guys take an artistic interest in the girls' bodies, but of course it can be interpreted as more. Despite frequent nude modeling in Torikagosou, it is less adult-themed than Venus ni Arazu.

Although "Model" involves vampires, both manga are similar in ways. There is one artist and one model who work with each other reluctantly. The male lead is usually calm on the outside, but is hiding one or two secret that the other finds out eventually. Also, there is a love triangle, but the story focuses on more than just that.

Both series feature a female protagonist who models for an artist and, over time, grow affectionate toward that artist and the place in which the art is done. Mind you in ParaKiss she's a model for clothing whereas in Birdcage Manor it's modeling for paintings. Both protagonists have a sense of independence and rebelliousness at that high school age. A character in ParaKiss is transgender and in Birdcage Manor there's a part-time crossdressing character featured. Neither protagonist really fits into a super common trope for characters. They're realistic and I wouldn't think it odd to see either in real life. This is in contrast to the plethora  read more

Both are about art and paintings, both girls fall in love with the painter. However Arte has a historical setting whereas The Sleeping Residents of Birdcage Manortakes place in the modern world.

- The setting is a weird hotel/mansion/apartment. - Female lead has long hair, is strong-willed, and unique from other female characters. - Both series feature great art that can be considered eye candy. - Both series focus on the residents of the mansion who are eccentric people who can't fit in the society. - Has romance, slice-of-life, and drama. - Male lead has an intriguing past. - [almost] All characters are bishounen and bishoujo. - Overall same atmosphere, reading The Sleepy Residents of Birdcage Manor reminded me of Inu x Boku SS.

Both have characters that are artists (Kira in Mars and Yusei in Birdcage) that have other characters pose for their work (Rei in Mars and Kizuna in Birdcage). Both also have a lot of drama and romance.

Although the stories are quite different they both contain female protagonists who have a brain in their heads; they have elements of comedy and romance that will have you giggling; and while they're both shoujo they manage to avoid most of the terrible cliche's associated with the genre.

Hotel Williams Child Bird reminded me alot of El Liston; they both take in random people who don't really have anywhere else to go. The feel of the romance, characters, and careers of both manga are similar.

In both the main girl ends up falling in love with a handsome dark haired guy that is very lonely and quiet, and he has/had a girlfriend that cannot forget about. So the main girl becomes close friend of that guy´s best friend, which is a blonde energetic and joyful guy who falls in love with her and knows that she loves the other one but still remains at her side trying to get her. And so it starts a love triangle.

In both mangas we have a male artist who has a woman as his muse and in both the male lead has a moody dark or damaged soul and puts a lot of pressure on himself so he never feels his work is good enough and the male lead does soul searching in his art and with his muse. In Sleepy Residents of Birdcage Manor (Torikagosou no Kyou mo Nemtuai Juunintachi), the male lead is older and the girl is a younger muse who he rescues while in Natsu no Senjitsu the female is older and helps him.
