theres finally a group translating this so perfect time to get into it, this is a great lil manga about a guy with no dream finally pursuing something and him putting his whole energy into it.

Its a fun little twist on the normal protaganist and antagonist vibe but its not like it hasnt been done before but still is enjoyable, with kenshin the rival being the typical shonen mc and aoba being a gloomy outcast. Although I say outcast this guy is lowkey more sadistic and kind of a socipopath, thats another fun part of this manga, seeing aoba do some dirty shi to ... win or just being the weird guy he is. I do think some parts of the manga could be better/more realistic but its a manga its not meant to be one to one.

Read this if you are into any martial arts/ sports or just want an enjoyable manga to read, I think this is fun enough that there is a slice of pie for everyone and I am suer excited to see the story progress as it gets translated. Love yall peace.

Most combat sports manga go all in on brute force brawling, but Red Blue takes a different path, putting the spotlight on strategy, positioning, and technical skill in MMA. Every fight feels like a chess match, with well-thought-out counters and real martial arts techniques that make it both exciting and refreshing. Unlike the usual slugfests, this series focuses on the intelligence behind the fight, making each exchange feel earned.

Beyond the fights, the characters and their interactions are just as engaging. The MC isn’t your typical hot-blooded underdog, he’s unpredictable and a bit of an outcast, and willing to do whatever it takes to win, his ... no bullshit mentality is endearing, and the way he analyizes and understands his opponents is a treat to read. His rivalry with Kenshin keeps the tension high, and the way their dynamic works is quite fun. The dialogue is sharp and sometimes funny making even non-action moments fun to read. All the other characters are very entertaining too.

This manga effortlessly blends action, technical combat, and comedy, delivering both hype and substance. It doesn’t try to be hyper-realistic, but it knows how to balance authentic MMA techniques with manga-style intensity, so it never gets stale. If you're into combat sports or just want something fresh, this is a must-read. It deserves way more recognition than it gets.

Red blue has the most realistic depiction of Mixed Martial arts in manga that I've seen, it uses techniques, strategies and training methods actually used by real life fighters with very little animefication. Reading this manga feels like watching an actual real life MMA fight is being shown with hardly any exaggeration of the techniques or strategies. Out of all the fighting manga out there Red Blue is the closest one to one of real life fighting.

The art style is very clear and easy to understand so you never get lost or don't understand what's happening in a fight. the Character designs are simple but ... effective. You can easily see so much of the personality and even the fighting styles of each character through their design alone.

The cast is also very solid, though the star of the show is the mc (Aoba), he is a weirdo outcast that you can't help but love because of his hilariously quirky personality. He carries the comedy aspect of this manga near single-handedly with his incredibly odd behaviors and blunt way of speaking, while being an absolute badass when he fights. Aoba is undoubtedly the best part of this manga and he is an absolute joy to watch.

If you're a fan/practitioner of Martial arts Red Blue is a must read but even if you're not a MMA fan Aoba is enough of a reason to watch Red Blue..

The story and characters are pretty messy, but the mma bits so far are interesting. The story itself seems a little contrived. The main character wants to beat up an MMA fighter classmate because.... he doesn't feel understood? or something along those lines. The characters themselves are okay, outside of the main character who just confuses me. If it keeps up the quality of the fights and techniques, I'll keep reading, but that's primarily because I'm a MMA fan and practitioner.

Art is good, but if you haven't read the great martial arts manga, (i.e. Holyland, Teppu, Meguru, Ippo, etc,) I would not recommend reading ... this. Hell, unless you've got a strong interest in realistic martial arts manga I don't see a reason to read this. Would I recommend this to someone who doesn't already enjoy MMA? Not really.
