If you start playing a new game, an immensely popular game where you can literally do anything that you could possibly think of. Except maybe illegal or morally wrong stuff which might get you banned or kicked out by the administrators. Now, imagine playing this game and have exactly everything you do, movements, talks, whatever, written down on a notepad and then have someone read it. This is that.
This series is basically a step by step of what our protagonist do in her play time on this popular game called Free Life Fantasy Online.
Our protagonist, Kotone, is apparently a very beautiful teenage girl with huge

knockers for some reason. When she's not playing games, she goes to school, eat or sleep. Barely anything of this is mentioned in this series as this is basically the step by step walkthrough on her gameplay. Playing a zombie in this game, Kotone has to survive and evolve her character to possibly be one of the mightiest ones.
This series has some interesting character choices the players can make when they start playing the game. Like you can be a normal human, but also everything from a fairy to a horse for some reason. But sadly, there's not a lot of information on these others since we only follow Kotone and her Zombie character for the most part. Unless she talks and ask the other characters about their own race.
The action scenes and/or fighting scenes aren't exciting or thrilling at all. Quite disappointing to say. It's more like "goblin does this and I twirl around and do this and I managed to kill it" kind of like feeling when reading some of them. As there's not much happening except the daily tasks our Kotone does like talking to others, brewing potions or cooking food, the entire series feels quite like the waste of time to even read. I have yet to even read about any ecchi scenes in this series despite eight volumes in. Why's the genre in here then?
The only enjoyable so far has been the BBS where unknown players talk to each other in a forum like place. The talks can derail a bit which is sometimes fun to read but that's basically it.
Now I'm too far gone into this series and I can't seem to stop for some reason after eight physical volumes of this light novel.
My own personal thought can only be that I honestly wonder how this series is still ongoing and who even approved of something so unexciting and lack of story as this one to even get published.
This is however a good series to read whenever you're bored as you can take a break whenever as barely anything ever happens.
Makes me wonder yet again how in the holy hell is this series even popular enough to reach the current volume count.
It's a hit or miss kind of series, some of you might enjoy it and some might be like me with my thoughts on this. But at the end of the day, it's always good to give it a try at least to see for yourself.
