Same author. The protagonists are really similiar: blonde, sweet, kind girls who are orphans and have difficult lives. Both manga are full of romance, drama, and shiny shoujo eyes.

CANDY and HIKARU are very similar in the ways that their love is always faithful to one person and their only reason for breaking up with the guy she loved was because there was no other way... i'll just say this TERRY's personality is ARATA but TERRY's love life is like TAKARA's..once you read it you'll understand EXACTLY what i mean...^^ but these mangas can make you laugh, cry, and MOE-fy haha

Both potrays girls with an incredible free spirit and cheerful personality. Both were orphans, love nature. They strugle to be a "woman". Take place in the first half of 20th Century.

Gun and Terry have both similar characters and their family problems are very similar too.

Igarashi Yumiko's recognizable and iconic style make the comparison obvious, but beyond that they're both wonderfully sweet series about a plucky and energetic young orphan girl who gradually finds first a family and then her own way in the world.

Both stories have orphaned female leads, hoping to find their mysterious childhood princes with hardships along the way.

The premise of both manga is similar: A young girl, an orphan, tries to live a happy life under the protection of a mysterious man whom both idolize and who will have similar endings. However, the story in both manga does not only focus on the romantic interest of the main characters, but also on the various boys they meet throughout their lives until they reach their true love.
