Preliminary (1/22 chp)
Well... I'm excited for this series

The premise looks more than it is on the surface, a kid who wants to follow his biggest passion for martial arts, but it seems that we'll be getting a lot of different styles of martial arts and some history on those martial arts. So, being a stranger to japanese culture and martial culture, this manga could bridge to this culture and knowledge.

For the two main characters, the mc looks generic and kinda bland and so the girl, but of course, this is just the first chapter, so I'm still optimistic.

The art looks actually really good, it's kind of ...

A story that had a lot of potential to be great but was unfortunately axed by Shonen Jump before it had a chance to come into its own. The story was a rather standard set up with some interesting twists, it was interesting how most combat seemed to be based on more grounded martial arts compared to other Shonen power systems. The artwork was initially what put me onto this series and only seemed to be progressing as each chapter released. Each lead character's personality was properly conveyed through how they interacted with each other which usually was the most engaging parts of the story. ...

Martial arts are really a genre of amazement, far beyond the hand-to-hand combat displayed in most kung-fu flicks. Disciplines like sojutsu (spears), kyudo (archery), or bojutsu (staffs) are just some few examples of techniques that, while acknowledged, most would not often consider a martial art. Even within the vast realm of anime and manga, with fighting-based series like Dragon Ball, media that represents the vast quantity of martial arts are rare to come by. So, when a new manga series that promised a deep dive into the more intricate and varied styles appeared on the block, I found myself certainly interested. Yet, despite early promise, ...

I just read the first chapter well first of all bout art the art is super amazin like the mixture of 90's art and modern day placement is just amazin kinda gives kingdom vibes.
so bout the plot in the beginning I thought it is going to be kinda romance type blended with martial arts but as I read through last 10 panel amazed me the art and the flow of the fight was amazingly drawn and the girl was somehow connected with the boy tho
well I gave it 7/10 cuz I don't think the art only is enough to let me like it lets see ...

"There are moments in life where we are struck to the core. But the one I'm most grateful for is the day that she found me."

- Isami Neruma, Chapter 1

Neru: The Way of the Martial Artist is a martial arts-based series that takes the digitally exclusive Bugei Michiyuki NERU and translated it into a print run. While the core elements of the series remain, with Isami Neruma attempting to become a martial artist. Hiraga, however, chose to introduce a number of new elements early on in order to make this release stand out from its predecessor. It is these changes, especially the ones made during ...
