I find myself returning to Hokuto Yamagishi's "Wild" series for a number of reasons: the beautiful art, the lore, the fascinating characters. However, out of the three, "Wild Wind" stands out through offering a solid foundation upon which the other two are built.
Chronologically, "Wild Wind" is a prequel to both "Wild Fangs" and "Wild Rose"; while the latter two revolve around the same characters, "Wild Wind" focuses on new ones, what manbeasts are, and how they came to exist in the story's universe. In that respect, you can read "Wind" as a standalone story.
