To start with the negatives, the illustrations aren't great. The main character is meant to have blonde shadow root hair, there's a whole chapter dedicated to this topic. He's also meant to have below-average looks, I'm not saying make him hideous but thin eyes or something would've been nice. I read this novel on ‘syosetsu.com’ and have only skimmed through the first few published novels so maybe the illustrations gets better, but I doubt it. The character designs, composition, and even the choices of which scenes to illustrate feels low effort.

The story starts off simple but as the story progresses, the protagonist is dragged into ... the more dramatic school politics. At which point you start to appreciate the slow beginning for building up the characters. Even in the later parts of the story the main focus and appeal remains to be the characters.

The main character Sajou isn't smart but is reliable and incredibly likable. He and I have hardly any resemblance and yet I can still relate to him because he feels genuine. The main character of this novel but not of its world. The same thing can be said about the main love interest Natsukawa. I don’t roll around in my bed for any girl. I won't pitch the story or praise it anymore since it’s best if your expectations are low.

Conclusion:
MAL rankings have heavily influenced my enjoyment of shows. Now days I can't help but cringe at the rom-coms that first got me into anime. This novel is one of the very few that can still give me that nostalgic feeling of light-hearted fun, and would love it if more people discover this novel.

This review will be a brief one.
Yumemiro Danshi is basically a light hearted oregairu.

As in oregairu, it's a love comedy that would be best described as a drama centered around the protagonist. It's not as profound as oregairu, though. The characters are a lot more shallow, as are the tricks used by the protagonist to solve the different problems he ends up facing.

It could be seen as a negative but actually, as far as the first volume goes, the novel feels a little more natural than oregairu thanks to that.

Anyway, if you've liked oregairu you're probably going to like this one too

ah, high school life what a wonderful thing to remember as an adult like us, right?

this story takes place of ordinary high schoolers whose blinded by love, what do you expect from a high school theme, right? NO, this story takes the love route almost too seriously for any ordinary reader like us, for starter we're greeted with Sajou Wataru whose madly in love with Natsukawa Aika (a school goddess) and then a certain event wake him out from his one-sided love dream, from this point on the story stays at the original plot and expand from how's he see's the world around him almost ... teaching him what he been missing from his life because the love story that mostly blinding him.

The way the story tells I can confidently say that this story had huge potential and sure it did all the way at the sixth installment of the Novels, I'm maybe biased for this Novel in particular but that doesn't mean I'm wrong, character-building is not really impressive but how the relationship between them as time continues is worth to praise, art for illustration can be confusing sometimes but I'm sure all the reader would ignore it because the story can cover its mistake.

If anything I can learn or Quote from this Novels are " Don't put your dream too high because once you're hit a wall you'll be broken as heck " at this point this novel can be and it will be the greatest novel ever be if the author stick with character development like it use to be, my prediction the ending of this novel would be at the tenth installment, the reason is simple, you can't use the same ingredient over and over again, so before that times come I will always cheer for the author and the team behind of this masterpiece
