If a nuanced Deadpool take is the fourth wall breaking character talking like a Jump editor who wrote the entire script of the series after bingeing the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe catalog from Iron Man to Avengers: Endgame (including the now MCU canon Fox X-Men movies) and peppered with a bunch of manga inside jokes. Shonen Jump has done an official collaboration with Marvel, and brought Deadpool to Japan! In proper fashion if I may add, throw in knock-off Spiderman, special Marvel appearances, and you'll have yourselves a regular good old time. I'm appalled on how the author perfectly captured Deadpool's character in writing this one-shot, starting from his way of thinking, his choice of words, up to his actions. It's like Stan Lee decided leave heaven for a little bit to pass his talent to the author of this manga.
It's an understatement to say that the author had an idea of Deadpool's personality, because it seems to me that he truly understood how Deadpool is meant to be written. Every page is a guaranteed laugh, or should I say, entertaining. The art is magnificent and the atmosphere, considering the event happened somewhere in Edo period, encapsulates ...

Before I read the first volume, I was excited to check it out, a Marvel x Jump manga with All might as a cameo? That sounds good.. but unfortunately, when I finished it, I was left feeling underwhelmed.
So one of Deadpool: Samurai's characteristics is obviously its comedy. Breaking the fourth wall, meta and unconventional jokes, deconstructing tropes, etc. But that's it. There's no other thing going for it: no interesting story or characters and anti-climatic action sequences. I get that it's making fun of tropes and that the story is pratically non-existant, because it's a comedy, but when your shtick is making fun of ...
