Some of these focus on the asexual experience where as others just contain characters that are heavily implied to be aroace in stories that do not necessarily have much focus on asexuality. manga with queer relationships and minimal to no sexual content that i found likeable + felt not as fetishizing as most others 🔹Queer person here, with the intention of creating a list of manga on the topic, including about the manga in general as a piece of media and art, how it handled the characters being LGBTQ+, how much does it lean on the most overused or distasteful tropes. most have lgbt characters, some just have ~the vibes~ DISCLAIMER: not every title on this list is trying to be a "good and realistic representation". LGBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual, binary transgender, non-binary, genderqueer, intersex, queer, pansexual, asexual, aromantic, etc.) characters in mangas I've read that are not listed as Boy's Love or Girl's Love on MAL. I try to specify what rep and trigger warnings for these series, but I definitely miss stuff! I suggest does the dog die dot com if you have a trigger that you are worried about, as it is much more in depth than I am. I stopped describing half way through Manga that I've read that center around queer characters and queer problems, not just BL or GL. Although some of these manga might not exactly fit these criteria I still highly recommend all the manga I have listed here. Composition is one of, if not, the most important aspect for storytelling within a visual medium such as manga and comics. Commonly referred within the world of cinematography as the "Split-Screen" or "Frame within a Frame" these techniques are often used to show division between characters or separate actions or perspectives simultaneously. |
